Silver Cloud is the most spacious and comfortable ice class vessel in expedition cruising. Her large suites, her destination itineraries and her unparalleled service make her truly special. With her 20 zodiacs, 10 kayaks, possibilities are almost limitless.

A new world of luxury is waiting aboard Silver Dawn. Both classic yet modern, Silver Dawn is the natural evolution of our fleet. Large enough to offer eight dining options – including the superb Sea and Land Taste (S.A.L.T.) programme – yet small enough for the famed Silversea on board ambience, Silver Dawn sets new standards of luxury.

Her PC6 ice-class rating is one of the highest in the industry, while her state-of-the-art equipment & exploration technology offer one of the most advanced expedition experiences ever.

Silver Moon maintains the small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodation. Silver Moon also features the all-new Sea And Land Taste (S.A.L.T.) programme – an immersive culinary concept that enables guests to travel deeper through a range of destination based gastronomic experiences.

Silver Muse redefines ultra-luxury ocean travel - enhancing the small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodations. Silver Muse significantly raises the bar in the ultra-luxury cruise market with a wealth of enhancements to the onboard experience.

Silversea's newest vessel will join us in summer 2023, and will be a home away from home for up to 728 guests. Silver Nova’s innovative asymmetrical design introduces the world like never before, offering an immersive destination experience to guests.

Silver Origin is the height of experiential travel in the Galapagos. Never before have the islands been so superbly presented: a team of Ecuadorian national expert guides, the highest crew-to-guest ratio in the Galapagos, and 8 Zodiacs that offer an extraordinary voyage – for extraordinary people.

Silver Ray includes a pioneering, asymmetrical design and extraordinary use of glass in both public areas and in suite for uninterrupted views. She offers an exceptionally high space-to-guest ratio yet remaining nimble enough to offer purity in movement.

Silver Shadow retains essence paired with a lively cosmopolitan atmosphere and enhanced amenities. Savour fine wines and French gastronomy in La Dame, enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in La Terrazza, or simply gaze at ocean views from The Grill. Not forgetting the regional-inspired The Restaurant.

Silver Spirit offers its guests one of the most complete cruise experiences available. Spacious decks leave plenty of room for relaxation, yet the cozy niches make sure that there is something for everyone. Enjoy first class dining and relax in what is possibly the best place between sea and sky.

Silver Whisper invites you to enjoy world-class accommodations. Revel in the pampering treatments of an expanded wellness spa, shop the hottest trends from top designers at our shipboard boutiques, and enjoy dynamic full-scale productions in a multi-tiered show lounge.

Silver Wind's cruising versatility means she is able to whizz from the Polar Regions to ports of the Mediterranean with ease. Whether you want to get up close and personal to penguins in Antarctica or laze on the sands of the Caribbean, get ready for a wealth of diverse destination experiences.

The food and wines were excellent, the tours were good looking forward to our next cruise to wherever we decide. The Virtuoso staff and tour was fabulous.

Very nice ship

By: CGLZ

Reviewed on: 23 Jun 2015

The Silver Cloud is a small ship and we were able to dock in very convenient places where other cruise ships could not. The ship is beginning to show some signs of wear (fraying carpet, for example) but otherwise was fine. Our suite (708) was very nice and showed no signs of wear. The butler and cabin person were very attentive and truly outstanding. The food was very good and we appreciated the smaller portions (more was available if desired). At times the food service was a bit spotty bur overall was fine. We were given the opportunity to dine by ourselves or with others at each sitting and chose to sit with others and met a lot of interesting people. The only criticism that is worth noting is that internet access should be included, even if the cruise price is increased. The pay per use or package offerings created some concern about charges and one should not have to worry about such things on a premium cruise.

Great Itinerary; Dated Ship; Older Crowd

By: K&J

Reviewed on: 08 Feb 2016

My husband and I are in our early 30s so we knew going into the cruise that we would be one of the youngest people on board. However, I was expecting late 60s not late 70's to early 80's. I kept getting mistaken for a crew member by some of the passengers. Age demographic aside, we selected the cruise because of the itinerary and we weren't disappointed! It was a great way to see the eastern coast of Africa in a short period of time. Service was superior; the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. My only complaint is about the decor. It is definitely in need of an update.

I learned how to navigate a zodiac and had a fabulous trip. I've signed up for another next year. The room was a nice size and it was the least expensive! Silver Sea listened and offered a trip to York & Yorkminster which wasn't on the original list and offered a second sitting for the London high tea & boat ride. Both of which I took. Two changes from the original itinerary that I didn't like were a much shorter time in Lerwick and in Eyemouth where I wanted to take a train/bus ? into Edinburgh. Many of the passengers didn't take the 90 minute zodiac tour of Noss, which I did. Overall it was a fabulous trip & going to St. Kilda was special. He was so attentive and helpful especially when we had a difficult time navigating. He never gave up and we had a beautiful experience. The massage therapist was great. Now, unfortunately, The Hotel was a complete misery and embarrassment to Silver Seas. Worse yet, the air travel connections were horrific. Silver Seas set us up without any care for our safety or comfort by putting us on a connecting flight that was an illegal time connection with no human way of connecting. The pain and frustration we experienced running through the airport only to be told the flight was closed and we were stranded. We were put on a flight several hours later and all three of us were not able to b seated together. It was a harrowing unnecessary situation. Shame on Silver Seas. A big stain on them

Very disappointed in this expedition. Silversea made many changes to our itinerary without explaining why. Our trip was shortened without warning. We missed a night on the ship. The ground tour agents were not given information on where they were to take us or what time to do it. We were taken by bus atone point to a building under construction and ordered off the bus. The driver made a phone call and back on the bus we went. This happened more than once. They did manage to drop us off for “shopping opportunities “ multiple times. The staff on the ship seemed unsure what was happening. Dinner service was snail slow and our butler service was almost nonexistent. We were treated as an annoyance with no welcome aboard greeting when we finally boarded the ship. We have used this cruise line in the past so our expectation was that we would receive the great service that we had previously experienced. This trip was a major fail.

Major communication issues prevailed. On the ground sub contractor personnel were terrible and made multiple communication errors. Waited 3 hours in line for flight we were told we were on and showed our seat assignments only to be told at check in desk that we were not on that flight. They violated their own Covid mitigation policies when doctor reviewing credentials prior to boarding allowed on a couple who had not had a Covid test within the window Silversea prescribed. We were turned away from our preferred dinning choice because of staffing issues. Took two days and several requests for a bottle of spirits to be found because of lack of attention to detail. We were herded en masse at final destination to dine in overcrowded restaurant and not offered other opportunities despite their being many in the area. We were misinformed about how baggage would be handled throughout the last day. Stood for 2 hours in line for charter flight back with no Silversea rep anywhere.

Beautiful ship, food great, ship crew wonderful, not great expedition crew

Beautiful ship (Silver Cloud”), the crew outstanding and we loved our Silver Suite. But I’m a serious birder and because the daily newsletters (come out night before) said the expedition crew would be in the aft and bow to look for wildlife while the ship was at sea, I expected them to be there during given hours. But they often were not. Sometime they’d show up for their 2 hour shift and leave after 45 minutes, saying they were getting coffee, then they wouldn’t return. Often, they’d be talking to passengers over coffee and while it’s important to be friendly to passengers, they weren’t looking for wildlife and as a serious birder who is not familiar with Antarctic seabirds, I needed them to ID birds. Both my husband and I have been on many trips and whether in Africa or Bhutan or Central America or the Galapagos, our guides were passionate about finding and IDing birds, monkeys, big cats etc. Silversea guides (except for Damon), not like that.

The public hallways are in desperate need of a coat of paint and both the carpeting in the public areas as well as in my suite badly need a good shampooing. The spa is very rundown. Massage rooms are very tiny and drab and the whirlpool tub used for pedicures is old, stained and the jets don’t work. Since this is advertised as a “luxury” cruise, I was surprised to find there was no sense of “luxury” in the physical plant of the ship, except for the bars and restaurants which have been updated.

We had a wonderful trip. The stops were well planned and very interesting. We stopped at a variety of game parks and saw a wide variety of animals. The guides and crew were excellent.

After going on the Silver Muse from Sydney to Auckland over Christmas it was wonderful to sail on the Cloud again. The food and the service was on a par with past Silversea cruises. The zodiacs were great and the crew got all passengers on and off safely.

This Dublin to Dublin cruise to the islands of the UK was absolutely wonderful. It had the usual feel of Silversea luxury--fine food and wine, comfortable accommodations, and wonderful personalized service. For this cruise, however, I want to praise particularly the selection of excursions and the way the crew got passengers into and out of the Zodiacs. The selection of excursions had something for everyone--from strenuous hikes to gentler walks to historic sites. Bravo. The method of crew grasping the guest's hand/arm right then left then right into the boat kept folks safe, and feeling safe. Bravo for that, as well.

We travelled on the Silversea Silver Cloud and were well taken care. The cabin and food service were top notch. The expedition staff was spectacular and the ship made the best of some ice situations in Nunavut, where we had to change routes which were done seamlessly, although we felt the cruise company could have done a more timely job securing permission to enter areas in Nunavut and making sure stores and museums were open when we landed. The bonus was a superb entertainment director, Daniel Gilham, who was very much appreciated.

Cruise ship review

By: Gray

Reviewed on: 09 Oct 2023

The ship is one of the older ships in its fleet and is now looking a little tired. I understand it is going in for a complete refit soon. Not before time. Food was excellent on board. Three days before we were due to finish the cruise a pump on one of the refrigerators exploded putting it out of action. This stopped us dining in “La Dame restaurant “ which we were looking forward to. Some of the cities chosen for docking overnight in were pretty boring and we would suggest these be reviewed. The entertainment on board was average at best and was far below what we have experienced before on MSC and Celebrity ships.

The Silversea Ship

The Silversea Ship was very good and very comfortable. The captain and crew were excellent and sailed & controlled our ship extremely well. They adapted very quickly to changes in weather conditions and made the safety of the passengers their top priority. My only complaint about the ship is that I would have liked to have seen more locally grown fruit and vegetables at the buffet. Chile has some of the best food on the planet and it would have been good to have see

We selected our suite on lower level and without verandah to minimize the risk of sea sickness. From the promo about silversea difference it stated that "finely appointed suites ensure your sense of ultimate luxury". I did not expect a room across the public laundry, dirty carpets and a smelly toilet. After three days I complained and the suite was cleaned, the plumber added a chemical to help with the bathroom smell, and I was promised that a better cleaning procedure will be implemented. Please do not blame the butler and the cleaner, they were following the instructions on how to clean (clearly different for the suits on other levels) and they were the kindest two men. That was clearly on how it was organized by the management. The excursion leader and all lectures were great. Excellent food. Disembarkation, Santiago flight, and hotel transfer were poorly planned and left us frustrated, tired and angry.

Silver Cloud is a relaxing and more intimate cruise ship. The smaller number of passengers ensures that the atmosphere is friendly and you get to know other passengers. The expedition staff were knowledgeable and helpful. We would recommend this cruise to everyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed our expedition cruise on the Silver Cloud. The ship stopped at several ports we had never heard of, and others we knew. The best was 2 days at Easter Island. Amazing. Our captain worked hard to get us to every port, even though sometimes the wind and the seas proved difficult.

Some of the passengers on the Silver Cloud were unhappy with the physical ship as it is a bit old. We found the Cloud to be charming and comfortable. At the end of the day, it's the SS people that make the voyage; and to a person, they were amazing.
