Attention to Detail

Stephanie was so professional, thoughtful and had an acute attention to detail. Her desire for my trip to be the best was very obvious. I felt like she gave my trip the same attention she would have given a trip she planned for herself or her own family. She took time asking us very important questions and even found a nice treat from her when we entered our cabin on the Allure of the Seas.

Total trip with one bad incident

Rating our experience on the Allure of the Seas leaving out our one bad incident is a 10 out of 10. Other than the security department and some of its personnel all our other experiences, with this our first experience on a cruise, was fantastic including ambience, food, things to do, shows, personnel etc. Regarding their security department we were humiliated, treated like criminals and our rights were extremely violated.

Our experience on the Allure of the Seas was excellent, what we have come to experience with Royal Caribbean International. The cabin staff were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, The entertainment was great, with quite a variety of shows.. We have cruised on the Oasis of the Sea which is the Allure's sister ship, we had a great time on that also, but I think the Allure was just that little bit more special.

Shows were fabulous. Too bad we had to rush after dinner to get a seat. No coffee or dessert.Dinner in dining room was like cafeteria food. Formal night I got prime ribs. Less than 1/2 inch thick ,brown gravy , no au jus. Spent money going to private restaurants. The room was nice. Were told we could request snacks for room. Our travel agent, put in request to Laura , the ship' rep. Never heard back ,never got the snacks. We had a suite and were nickel and dimed for everything. There should not be charge for water in room. Needed so that people don't get dehydrated. This is the first cruise I have been on that didn't offer bottled water as you left the ship for excursion. Extra charge for internet in suite ?Employees were helpful. Romeo, our house keeper , Phillip in concierge worked hard to help with our needs. John Block and 'One' were nice. Brysen works for your company and he was great. I was disappointed that I wasted so much money on this trip.

Of the shore excursions we took, the one in Cozumel that brought us to the Mayan village and the seaside with Alan as our guide was the best.

Deck 4 is filled with different veues for each of the shows so board , some include children some do not. The Agua show at the "Boardwalk"is fun for all. The parade s in the Promanade is greatl fun for all. The casino is for those not faint of heart as is the zip line. The staff is great and seem truley happy to be there and serve you. The only warning I have is if you are a couple be aware of vacation weeks as the shipped is mostly filled to capacity with lots and lots of family's with younger children

This was my second time out on the Allure, and I have also been out on the Oasis. The food was by far very much improved over my family's 2012 trip on the Oasis. My only comment is that breakfast in the windjammer is a little too repetitive--and would have loved a few different choices (breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, etc.). The ship was clean and all service personnel were fantastic!!! Really an excellent cruise experience.

We have cruised on the Allure of the Seas two and three times respectively. Each experience has been different. The service on our latest cruise was great. Our stateroom attendant, Mariela was very attentive and extremely personable. The food on some nights was very good, but some nights just so so. One thing to add, we were disappointed with the lack of nights you could see Mama Mia, three to be exact and that included one showing at 5pm on a port day. There was a large group of people involved in Kosherica, which we were unaware of until we boarded the ship. I give a lot of credit to the employees in all departments for their effort to accommodate any special request/needs by those involved in Kosherica. Additionally, I was somewhat bewildered by some people participating in Kosherica complaining about service.. There was an extended delay with disembarkation, to which we were only told there was an issue in the terminal.

Staying in the crown loft suite was the best decision we made especially since we were traveling with small children and needed room to relax while the kids were alseep. The suite was fabulous. Two floors, two bathrooms and the best suite attendants we have had while on vacation. The attendants modified their cleaning scheduled to fit our family schedule. They also got to know our children and left special treasures for them to find before bedtime. They even gifted my son with a birthday cupcake and sang happy birthday to him on our last night. Our suite attendants also gave the best advise about what activities were good for our family and which ones we probably wouldn't enjoy with kids. The suite lounge and costal kitchen were great. The staff also accommodated our family needs. They quickly learned our names and that we liked to have appetizers brought to keep the kids busy at the table. I personally loved the atmosphere of the Costal Kitchen and the wonderful view.

Great. We have sailed on the Oasis before so know what sort of features and amenities the Allure would offer. The service on the ship was efficient and well run, the staff were for the most part friendly and some attendents even went above and beyond. One of the negatives we experienced were dirty (salty) windows and balcony glass when we started the cruise, which spoiled the view somewhat. Everyone was told that these would be cleaned at one of the stops on the cruise, but this never happened. Another negative we experienced was poor communication regarding Royal Carribbean transfers from the ship to the airport at the end of the cruise. We were given different times by different guest services staff, and spent a lot of time sitting on the bus waiting to go. The Air Transat transfer service, which we used on the previous occassion, was much better.

Crowds yes, comfort no
Reviewed on: 16 Feb 2017
Experts would no doubt call the Allure of the Seas an engineering marvel - truly it makes a favorable first impression. But once the traveler sets sail the cruise becomes a test of patience in crowd management. Lines are too long. Staff are focused on their rules (a party of three is only allowed three towels in the poolside area - not four); the receptionists in the high end optional restaurant unwilling to seat a party of three...in an otherwise empty restaurant...and very snippy about it...examples go on and on for this mass market vanilla experience. On the other hand the private dining room for suite passengers was outstanding in every way - the staff warm, creative and courteous - the food excellent. Royal Caribbean is not for passengers who have gotten used to a higher standard of service on other lines, nor is it for people who don't enjoy long lines and snappy staff.

Allure of The Seas

As I first time cruiser, I enjoyed my time on the Allure of the Seas. There is definitely plenty to do on board. We ate at the Wind Jammer restaurant only once as it was too much like a high school cafeteria for my liking. The rest of our meals were at the American Icon Grill. There was a good selection of food and it was always fresh and delicious. I did find all the 'money grabs' on board a bit much and they are definitely using some hard sales tactics. For example, they will tell you you are getting a great deal on a watch at 75% off the retail price, but a quick internet search will tell you that there is no deal to be had. The other issue, is the same as at any resort and it's the issue of people saving lounge chairs and never sitting on them. Everyone would always have a seat if people wouldn't save chairs. They should have staff remove things from chairs after 1/2 hour. People will be mad the first time this happens, but once they know the rules it will be better for everyone.

we were amazed at the size of the ship and the number of passengers, which really wasn't a factor except for the first day when everyone was boarding at the same time.

I would recommend the ship. Our room attendant & dining room staff did a great job. One thing not really happy with, was that our party of 9 had reserved dining and were put in a round table for 8. We added a chair, so although a little crowded, it worked. It had a lot of activities and it was very easy to find our way to everything we wanted. (&back "home" to our cabin). We have gone on another cruise line that was very confusing to find our cabin, so this was a nice difference. We were a little disappointed in the whole Dreamworks part of the cruise. Most of our party did not feel it was as kid friendly as we expected. Of course, our grandkids were a little younger (ages 7-11). They were not able to do the wave rider, zip line, etc. Also, I was a little taken aback by how rude people were when we were playing miniature golf. The kid zone was Ok for 2 of the kids, but the other 2 refused to go back after the first time there. They all loved the Trolls party after the photo safari

Great enjoyed every moment especially the shows and the ambiance. All employees ensured that the ship was clean I admired that people were generally friendly felt safe at all times. Also enjoyed the daytime activities in the different areas. Kudos to the cruise director and everyone who made my stay enjoyable even the room attendant who was super friendly and always had a smile. Thanks.

This ship was the second largest in the world at the time of cruising, and bigger was definitely better. The staff, food, and overall experience was amazing. My 5 year old daughter LOVED the Kid's Club - she preferred to be with them when given the option vs. her family! The science experiments, the dinner experience, the arts and crafts, and kids movies - She LOVED IT! Thank you!

This is my third time traveling on the Allure but not my last. Everyone was so attentive to our needs it made the vacation a great one. The best person on the cruise was the wait staff for My Time Dining. Raj and Ajay were very professional and absolutely the best I have seen so far (and I am a Diamond member).
