Nice, small environment

This ship is for someone looking for a smaller experience.  The crew are extremely friendly and helpful.  There was not much for our teenagers to do, but they still enjoyed their first cruising experience.  The food was excellent, but be prepared to pay for all of the "extras" higher priced meat and seafood, drinks, etc. Overall it was a great experience and we appreciated the fact that is was not a huge ship with thousands of people.

Royal Caribbean cruise line (and its sister company Celebrity) are the only cruise lines that we will sail. The service is impeccable and the corporate culture is one that wants to WOW its customer. This company has never failed to WOW us! Our 12 Day cruise to the Mediterranean was phenomenal, from the wait staff to the room attendant, to the master of the ship who was very interactive with the guests aboard his ship. Thanks for an excellent adventure in the Med, and we look forward to many more cruises in the future (we currently have 3 more Royal Caribbean cruises booked for the next 18 months!)

The boat is small, but thats what we loved. It took five minutes to get on the boat and 5 minutes to get off. Nothing was ever overcrowded.

Though it is one of their older ships it was clean, modernized at places and the crew was friendly and magnificent. Loved it. Then again, as long as there is a Schooner bar I am happy, lol

We like it because it is smaller

This was our second time on the Vision of the Seas. I have to say that the price for the cruise was very reasonable, but I am starting to tire of the nickel and diming that happens on board and the really high-priced shore excursions. I will do my best to avoid the ship excursions in the future. Oh, and a single can of Coke at dinner was $3.48. So, besides the cost of things, we were very comfortable on board. I slept well on a firm mattress each night. The dining room staff was very attentive. We spent a lot of time in the Solarium and that space is very relaxing. Our most favorite space on the ship. Plenty of activities for everyone if you want them both active and quiet. I like this ship better than the bigger ships. I like the coziness of it all.

This was our second adventure on the Vision of the Seas. Our first experience was in the Caribbean. Most recently we sailed a fall foliage route from Quebec City to Newark. The food, entertainment, and service were top notch. We would recommend the Vision of the Seas to others.

I absolutely LOVED the ship and the crew! I had an amazing time with my friends and was able to take several naps on the top deck under a perfect breeze. That alone made my bday vacation worth while.

We would not cruise on this ship again. It was nice, but dated. Activities were limited for cruises beyond 4 or 5 days.

Review of Royal C cruise to Cozumel_ Dec. 2017

By: Bradley

Reviewed on: 11 Dec 2017

This 5 day cruise to Progresso/Cozumel out of Galveston was a good one. The staff were great; very friendly and helpful. The captain did a great job. Generally, the weather was fantastic, although we had a rough day at sea on the return home (not Royal C's fault). Been a little spoiled after traveling on Crystal Cruise lines, so not used to having to show my room card every time I wanted a beverage. This included bottled water, which I thought was a little petty. Also, when I needed cash for additional gratuities for the staff, I had to go to the casino with my room card to get the cash (I couldn't do it at the front desk.). Then, at the casino, the cashier could only give me vouchers which I had to go to a machine to insert, before cashing out , so that I could then go back to the cashier to get my cash. It was a very cumbersome process! I would take another trip on Royal C out of Galveston, but would hope they would improve on the processes described above.

For a short 4 day trip to Mexico the ship was great - small enough not to get lost and actually make friends. The staff was friendly and the food was good. Definitely a calmer and more mature crowd than the Carnival option.

It depends on the type of vacation you are looking for. The ship needs updating and the shore excursions run through the cruise line was less than what we expected. I would not recommend this ship to people who really care about the quality of the ship and not the ports of call. Our main focus was ports of call.

Mostly ok. There were 3 separate incidents of improper handling of drinking glasses in the Windjammer which were never resolved even after reporting the to the supervisors. I reminded them of food borne illness. All we got was a apology. Several passengers, my sister's family and a friend got their luggage very late in the evening. Another passenger has told me she did not get her luggage until day 2. My friend took an hour searchin for luggage at teens of the cruise. She almost missed her flight back home. The coffe was bad. I was told I had to pay for good coffee. I don't think so!!! Food was mediocre but love the special buffet at lunch in the main dining room. The waiters in the main DR for dinner and cabin attendant were exemplary.
