Great cruise on the new Regal Princess. The ship is incredibly well organized, the itinerary was simply perfect (we stopped in Barcelona, Toulon, Rome, Naples, Santorini, Kusadasi, Mykonos and Venice), very well structured, with two days at sea. Amenities, entertainment and food on board are at the very top level. The SPA' services are excellent. Definitely a perfect cruise.

Service a 10 at every station. Excursions were well thought out and disembarking and embarking was so smooth. Again, no long lines. Princess has us for life!

This is a beautiful ship but......there were no staircases in the center of the ship. Since we were located in the center of the ship we were always waiting for the lifts--even if we needed to go up just 2 decks. Our choices were 1. wait forever for a lift which were always full by the time they reached the upper decks or 2. walk to the front or back of the ship to walk up two decks and then walk back to the center of the ship to get to the horizon court. Other than the lack of stairs, the ship was amazing. Very beautiful with lots to do.

I still like RCL and their production shows and outdoor activities/sports. But if this is not as important, Princess has a more 'elegant' look and feel, a bit older crowd, and maybe a more relaxing type of cruise. Food was good in dining room and the Buffet area. Desserts are as fun to look at as much as tasting.

Our first trans_ Atlantic crossing. We didn't know what to expect with 6 continuous days art sea. Regal was perfect. Totally unexpected was the number of first run movies available and continuous live TV. We don't know if this amenity is restricted to REGAL or a new Princess amenity. Excellent. Much appreciated when you want the privacy of your cabin. We always book a mini-suite. Princess "at sea" a good addition too. The easy to strenuous ratings for shore excursions is very helpful. Crew outstanding. Embark and disembark easy. Food quality excellent and of course always plentiful. We chose Sabatini's for our specialty dining. Negatives??? A few. first, internet over priced. Understand satellite feed, however, everyone seemed to be walking around with a device so is more "band width" one solution. Second, the subject matter for the lectures was good. The presenter -- boring. Third, I've seen better show on other Princess ships.

Best Guide ever!!!

Because of my need for emergency surgery the first day of the land portion of the trip I was unable to go further, my granddaughter was able to continue for eight more days. What we want Princess to know is that the guide, Anthony Micaleff, for that land portion was absolutely fantastic. He arranged for me to see a doctor; arranged transportation to the hospital; then came later to make sure all was OK; informed the tour group of what had happened; asked the tour group to include my granddaughter in their activities; they adopted her right away; he contacted another guide who came to check on me in the hospital; since my granddaughter was underage, she was not able to take the cruise part of the trip; Anthony helped get her flight changed so she could return to U.S.; found a hotel for her and took her back to airport the next morning; when he came back to Budapest, he visited me in the hospital. The BEST guide anyone could ask for!! BTW we will be taking the cruise next summer.

This is a nice ship but the congestion getting on and off for excursions or to just go ashore was frustrating. We prefer a smaller ship for this reason. There were not enough inside areas to read and relax either. Sabatini's restaurant was a big disappointment. The service was very slow and food mediocre. Worldview Travel paid for our cover charge, but it still was not worth it. Also the pizza restaurant on deck 5 was going to charge me extra for coffee and they did not have a machine in the restaurant. The coffee bar was right across from them on the same deck where I could walk over myself for a free cup. This is very poor service given the price we paid for this cruise.

We have traveled Princess Cruises for many years and they never disappoint us. The Regal Princess is a beautiful ship and the crew was friendly, helpful, and eager to serve. The shows on board the ship are Las Vegas style entertainment and we really enjoyed the talent, costumes, and stage sets. The variety of foods and restaurants on board the ship are wonderful. One evening, we went to the Chef's dinner which is a special dinner for a limited number of guests with a tour of the kitchen followed by a six course meal. All of the courses are special creations of the chef and served with a wine paring. All delicious! At the end of the evening we were given photographs of us with the chef and a Princess cookbook. We also dined in the wonderful Sabatini's restaurant and enjoyed a taste of Tuscany. The ports of call are fun and interesting. We always feel safe traveling on the well organized Princess shore excursions. I highly recommend the Princess Cruise line.

We enjoyed our time onboard the Regal Princess. The staff we encountered daily at the Horizon Court (the buffet service), the Allegro (our Dining Room), and our cabin Stewardess, were always helpful, laughed at our jokes, and made sure that our needs were taken care of almost before we thought of them. We have never been disappointed while sailing with Princess. This cruise was a celebration of our 50th Anniversary and my 75th Birthday. Our Travel Agent notified Princess of this and, as such, we were Wined and Dined accordingly. In addition to Champagne and Chocolate Covered Strawberries from our Travel Agent, Princess arranged no less than 3 celebration cakes and covered the Cover Charges for both of us at one of the Specialty Dining Rooms of our choice (we chose Sabatini's), along with 2 free drinks compliments of Captain Tim Stringer (as part of the Captain's Circle). We have always felt comfortable and welcome on all 4 of the Princess Cruises we have taken.

Now if people with children would realize their kids would be much happier on many other lines that cater to the i'm bored crowd we would all be much more content. I keep reading how Princess gets voted best pizza at sea. It's true, but just not the stuff they have by the pool. Less than half a dozen ships have the separate pizza restaurant, on these ships they are on the sixth floor at the atrium and i think one ship had it next to the vines wine bar. The captain who was from England did amazing job of communicating with the entire ship. He always provided us with enough lead time if there was something important to get a picture of. Every aspect of the ship did not disappoint and exceeded expectations. The Horizon Grill has not really improved their game. There was something for everyone's taste. In addition, the Crown Grill was super. Don't forget to go out on the main deck and experience the Trident Grill. There you can get hot dogs hamburgers bratwurst or chicken sandwiches with little or no wait cooked to order. Princess continues to do an amazing job in the cruising industry. Our waitress was a young woman named Eliana, smiling, helping with our selections, we always asked to be in her section. Damir, a jr. waiter made sure coffee, tea and other drinks were always available. They represent Princess very well. Always plenty to do for those folks needing to be entertained. Undoubtedly Princess has taken care to use the very best procedures. Sadly, however, disembarking the ship for port tours was always a frustrating and time consuming experience. Perhaps there are just too many people. Mid-ship elevators almost always require extra waiting time. Our stateroom was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. A cruise on the Regal Princess

By: West Coast Photo

Reviewed on: 13 Nov 2018

We had a very enjoyable fall cruise on the Regal Princess. The Regal Princess is a bigger ship, but after a day or so you don't see that many people. Perhaps it was the fact that outside temperatures were in the low 40's and the wind was blowing across the ship a bit, but what do you expect for a cruise in October. First of all, we are not your typical cruisers. We usually don't go to shows or take advantage of the entertainment offered by the ship. Shore tours seemed OK, but sold out quickly so be aware. We Preferred the Horizon Grill to the formal dining rooms. The food was acceptable, and we enjoyed it. We enjoyed walking the deck and getting to bed early as sleeping on a ship is very relaxing. We noticed a concerned effort to keep the ship clean. Our cabin was very clean, and the steward kept it so. Since we prepay gratuities, you don't see much of your cabin steward, which we like. In closing, we recommend the Regal Princess as a good ship to cruise on.

As this is a huge ship, there is LOTS of walking (esp. for me & other elderly). But, they have lots of ongoing activities and productions are good... Also though, there was little room to move around in the cabin or it's bath room & I would have preferred a bit larger.. Food was mostly excellent.. Staff in dining room terrific, as was our cabin attendant..

Cruise to Northeast Coast

Ship's size and amount of passengers made matters crowded. The buffet area was cramped and unorganized. It was difficult to find a place to seat, and there was no way to grasp where in the buffets lines you would find certain types of foods. If there was an organized plan to it, it was kept secret. I would not cruise on such a ship again.

The Regal Princess is a great ship, the Crew very happy and friendly, any request was accommodated, the mini suite very roomy and comfortable. The Baltic ports were amazing, we did all Princess excursions which were excellent, and the guides very knowledgeable. Staying at pre and post cruise Princess hotels was an advantage, our luggage taken care of.

The Regal Princess was about 2 years old when we cruised New England. It was a wonderful cruise. The food was amazing. The staff was sooo nice and always ready to help. It is a large ship. 3500 people. A little too large for me but considering the number of people, Regal Princess had everything very well planned out. Lines of people moved quickly and orderly.

Princess still a good value

By: World Traveler

Reviewed on: 08 Nov 2019

For the money, Princess is still a great deal. Service is always great. But notice they are "cheapening" things. As an example, a small thing, as an elite passenger, we get a bag of extra bathroom goodies. Normally comes in a nice gold bag that can be reused. this time items were laid out on the sink. Not a fan of the new Medallion. Ordered a drink and the waitstaff had no idea where we were, who to deliver to. Club Class used to be extra special - now no more special menu items cooked in the CC dining room. We will still cruise with Princess when it is a location we've been to before (Alaska, Mexico, etc). But for the "special"/different itineraries, we will probably go with Oceania (our favorite)

The ship was beautiful. The staff was great, especially one of our waiters, Eduardo. The food was average as was the entertainment. We especially enjoyed Beatle Mania and the comedian. The music in the Piazza and the wheel house was very good. We liked the idea of the medallion but had difficulty using it to find our friends. We suggest putting odd and even signs in the hall near the elevators to make it easier to find our room. We enjoyed our time aboard the cruise ship. Our travel advisor, Susan Salk was excellent and we would definitely use her again.

Dinning problem

Had a great time had a little problem with a specialty dinning. It was supposed to be held until my husband and myself take our cruise in Sept. They had me myself going on the first night on the ship. Who wants to eat dinner themself and on the first night at six when we just got on the ship. I was still unpack when I looked at the excursions and saw that I was to go to the specialty dinning it was 530. No way could I get ready and then go by myself. This was talked to princess people 3 time's with my travel agent to hold until my husband trip in Sept. This is complementary because we my husband and myself had a big problem with air travel through Princess air. Still a continuing hassel.
