We have sailed with several different lines and have found Seabourn to be heads and shoulders above the rest for adult cruising! The service is unparalleled, and the food fabulous! For anyone considering a smaller, more intimate ship with lovely staterooms and an emphasis on service, Seabourn will not disappoint,

Service Separates Seabourn from othe Ships

By: Dave

The best of the best for it's staff on board the ship-Seabourn "gets it" while Silversea and Regent try but miss that special connection between passenger and crew. You are pampered and appreciated on Seabourn and made to feel so special. Only minor issue is the misrepresentation of cabins on the website. don't book the Owner's Suite 600 or 601 the deck plan online isn't accurate the balcony is normal sized

Our 7th outstanding Seabourn cruise!

By: RalphGS

Reviewed on: 03 Sep 2014

Our 7th Seabourn cruise was arguably our best, greatly enhanced by traveling with good friends (who also booked thru Michael Holbrook), striking up a fun onboard relationship with one of Seabourn's food service managers (whom we playfully dubbed "cheeky monkey"), & thoroughly enjoying our hotels before & after the cruise. We have been on all three of Seabourn's larger sister ships & enjoy them immensely. The crew members are unfailing cheerful & helpful, the excursions & ports are fascinating, the rooms are exceptional, & the food is imaginative, varied, & served in 4 marvelous venues.

Excellent. Needs improvement in some areas

By: Lesley

Reviewed on: 08 Mar 2015

We have been sailing on Seabourn for 6 years and, whilst enjoying immensely every cruise up to now, felt that this journey was in some areas, not up to par. Service in the dining room was extremely slow even though most evenings was not full. Some ships tours could have been more thoughtfully planned. Our interim bills were wrong every time despite our asking for them to be corrected. The final bill was also wrong. We felt that the hotel manager could not 'get his act together'. Hopefully Seabourn will get its act together or a wonderful cruise line will slip into the mundane.

We've traveled on several upscale cruise lines but Seabourn is the best. They really focus on customer satisfaction and we developed several personal relationships with the staff and crew. We took the Southeast Asia cruise on Seabourn Sojourn (Singapore to Hong Kong via Bangkok, Cambodia and Vietnam) January 2017. It was fantastic. Even the several days at sea flew by with interesting lectures, fun activities (we enjoyed the ongoing team trivia tournament), the exercise options (sorry we didn't use the spa, but I heard it was wonderful). Meals were delectable and we sampled almost all of the dining options with no complaints whatsoever. OK - it's pricey but you won't be disappointed. It is truly ask and you will receive. They will try their hardest to fulfill any customer request.

Wonderful as I always know my cruises will be on a Seabourn ship. The service is excellent, staff welcoming, speak English, are friendly and polite. Cabins spacious and comfortable. Food and drinks 24/7 which means I disembark heavier than when I boarded, but that's because I don't use the ship gym. Seabourn doesn't like to use the 2 letter word 'no' when you ask something of them. Highly recommend a Seabourn cruise

My time on the Seabourn Sojourn was wonderful. The cruise ship was five stars from the staff, suites, and excellent meals, etc. My steward was amazing. The professional staff members who gave lectures regarding the ports we were going to see, or the excursions were excellent. Due to the size of the ship, it was able to go through the passage that large ships cannot go through. Therefore, we were able to see more of Alaska. The cruise ship was close to two separate glaciers which was amazing. I highly recommend this cruise line.

The Sojourn is a beautiful ship and the staff was the best of any cruise that I have ever taken. We had a wonderful 14 day cruise in Alaska. The ship is smaller that the 2000-3000 passenger ships - and that was very good. We could get into Fjords that the larger ships could not. We saw many whales, bald eagles, seals, bears, glaciers and a lot of beauty. I would love to cruise again on this ship.

Late departure set the tone. I do not think any of the passengers knew about the drydock until a few days before which was unfair. Lots remained to be done when the cruise departed and the work was finished at sea. Service generally good although spotty or really bad at times. Food was generally very good although the new Keller restaurant was a disappointment. Some of the destinations should have been altered given the state of destruction that existed in the islands.

The Sojourn is the second of the Seabourn Odyssey class ships. She still remains a 6 star ship. The service is impeccable, with the staff knowing your name by the second or third day aboard. The food remains very high quality. While there was an issue with the planking around the pool area on my most recent voyage, Seabourn ameliorated the issue by giving every suite a $500 on board credit; it was a satisfactory resolution to me. As always on Seabourn, SERVICE is key and they did not fall short.

Somewhat disappointing due to decline of service and food & beverage selections. Also, two of the chosen ports (Alert Bay and Klemtu) were quite disappointing with very little to do or see. The ship is now catering mostly to younger clients who wish to do sight seeing trips on kayaks and small inflatables or helicopter excursions, all of them quite expensive and not suitable for the older Seabourn crowd. So-called "scenic cruising" in the fjords was for the most part drifting or anchoring in the sea channels for many long hours with little to do or see except the same landscapes. This was boring compared to previous trips to Alaska with other cruise lines.

Our first ocean cruise in more than 40 years. Apart from seeing Alaska we wanted to know if we would like to do ocean cruises. We decided a small ship that took a reasonable time to travel from Seward to Vancouver so we had a chance to see more. Also smaller ships go to and can get into places larger ships don't go. Being km up a fjord brought great views and an almost surreal experience. We joined the Sojourn at Seward for a 14 night cruise. From the time of embarkation to our final disembarkation in Vancouver service was friendly, helpful and efficient. From our first morning when we asked a crew member in a corridor, where do we get a hot chocolate, He replied give me you cabin number and we'll have it sent there. All the staff we asked they were treated well by Seabourn. Most of the passengers had been on Seabourn before, so first timers like us were in the minority. Cabins were ell laid out and comfortable. So we will definitely plan another Seabourn adventure.

My overall rating is Excellent: from the wait staff in the Restaurants, bars & lounges and on deck, hosted tables for dinner where ship’s Officers, entertainers, cruise staff. The entertainment was top-notch including the Seabourn Singers, dance duo, vocalist/piano player in the Observation Lounge, the Band which performed at all the shows in the Grand Salon as well as The Club & the vocalist that fronted The Band. For the 12 night Alaska sailing, every day there were 3 exbedition lectures & at least 1 Guest Conversationalist presentation on the historical aspects of the coming adventures awaiting the passengers. No one can say that Seabourn did not have enough daytime activities to keep passengers occupied. After Ketchikan (first port) we were the only ship in port the rest of the voyage. The 8-night America’s Gold Coast sailing was more port-intensive with 5 port calls & 2 sea days :) before arrival at Port of Los Angeles was just as great as the Alaska cruise!
