Highly recommend this cruise line/ship. Accommodations were lovely, rooms perfectly cleaned, food excellent. The talent on board were fantastic, especially Jason Slattery and Zach Gregus. We made many good friends with staff (Jason, Zach, Kreshun, Cherisa, Phillipe, McJordan, Glenn, the tour coordinator and many others). The staff made us feel welcome and comfortable and it was a pleasure getting to know them. Everyone was super friendly, polite and courteous. Very well run ship.

A truly outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, we were treated exceptionally well. Our room was comfortable and roomy -- and our butler (!) added all of the right amenities. We ate better than we could remember, with each dining room being superb. The day excursions were great fun led by wonderful guides, and we met some lovely people. If we take another cruise, it only will be with Silversea!

Our experience with SILVERSEA was highly positive. We enjoyed our suite immensely. The bed was very comfortable, the walk-in closet was handy, and the veranda enhanced our pleasure. The SILVER WIND staff, especially our butler, Michael, attended to our every need. Each food venue provided delicious food and satisfying drinks. Services such as live music and lectures were enjoyable and beneficial, as were the seven excursions. We hope to travel with SILVERSEA again.

The musical troupe was the best I've heard on a ship, and this was my seventh cruise. I did complain though that the Terrazza Cafeteria often did not open until 7:30 AM. This does not allow enough time for passengers to have a leisurely breakfast and then be on the dock for land excursions at 8:20. The Terrazza should always open at 7:00 AM. Also, many passengers were upset that the only news network was CNN. The clerk at the Registration Desk told me there was a "technical" difficulty. Well, Silversea Cruise Lines should have corrected the problem before the Silver Wind ever left San Juan. During an election year we need to see Fox, BBC and even more news programs. Additionally, travelers would enjoy seeing the Weather Channel to find out what's happening at home, and to see what conditions will be for their flights back home.

Boring menus - osso bucco almost every night in LaTerrazza; three hamburgers cluttering up the Dining Room menu. Fewer choices in lunch buffet - nothing but chocolate/vanilla/ or horrible zero/zero ice cream at lunch in LaTerrazza. Too little pasta variety at buffet. For four nights we could not get Glen Morangie at the Bar. Found a bottle at the pool bar. The Bar staff were too lazy to make the effort to find us any in the other bars Used to get caviar at least once at dinner - no longer. Meat in LaTerrazza dishes mostly overcooked. Public rooms are too cold most of the time. Even the cruise director agreed, but nothing changed. Our eleventh or twelfth Silversea cruise - probably our last.

This was out fifth cruise with Silverseas. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. Silverseas was made aware of this but yet no mention of it was ever made on the 10 day sailing. We were never invited to dinner with a member of the crew even though we were in one of the better suites. I know that this sounds petty but we were not made to feel special or that we mattered to the cruise line. The ship is dated even though it had been recently renovated. The airconditioner in our room was on max the whole time and rarely kept it cool. Maintenance said it was the best they could do. The seventh floor was repeated flooded from overflowing toilets which was not a pleasant smell. The only reason I would sail on Silverseas again is if the itinerary we wanted was only available on Silverseas (as was this cruise).

We enjoyed the Silver Wind. We had never travelled with Silver Seas before and were very pleased. The suite was lovely and it was convenient to have a butler. Although it is not a new ship it has been meticulously maintained. It was the best food we have every had on a cruise.....delicious and creative. Although we missed the abundance of caviar we have on Seabourn it was nonetheless very gourmet dining. Found the ship a bit small so would try one of their larger ships next time.

The physical qualities of the ship were not good. The ship is old and needs desperately to be updated. Areas of the ship smelled bad, carpet in stateroom was old and worn, bathrooms too small. The only outstanding thing about the cruise was the excellent quality of the butlers and crew. The excursions could have been better, one in Barcelona was really bad and after I asked for a refund, I got nothing but excuses. The internet service was a joke and we were even charged for time we had not used. When we complained, we were told we were too late for any refund. The reception and excursion directors need a refresher course on customers relations.

Pluses: 1. Liked the relatively small number of passengers (300). 2. The personnel were the best we have had in our 4 cruise history. The nicest and mist efficient. 3. The tours were the best we have had with most of the guides being outstanding. 4. The shows at night were the best that we have had---really well trained singers, one with operatic training. Minuses:1 the food was OK but not great. 2. The most important minus is the ship itself. It is old and tired. We had a large suite at the front of the ship. We paid a lot, especially compared with our experiences with their competitor, and we just didn't get what we had hoped for. The private deck was too small; the Windows were too small; the furniture appeared "tired looking". But the biggest problem was the bathrooms which were very old. Too small; no separate shower; one of the bath tubs only had a hand held shower instead of a built in shower head. Look---when spending so much, one expects true luxury and it wasn't.

My husband and I have just returned from our second Silversea cruise, this time on the Silver Wind. We love the intimacy of this ship. We can find our way around the ship and manage to meet other passengers and staff. The staff on this ship are outstanding! Our butler, Raj was a very thoughtful attendant who always knew us whenever he saw in various parts of the ship. For a smaller ship, there was terrific entertainment, from the theater shows to the quartet and DJ at the bar, to the pianist in the Panorama Lounge it was all worth listening to. The food was excellent, varied and served in reasonable portions. On this cruise, we did not make reservations for the extra subscription restaurant, La Dame, but we ate at each of the other restaurants and enjoyed all of the choices. The wines were fine and we did not feel the need to order on of the additional cost wines. We look forward to our next cruise and would be happy to be aboard the Silver Wind again.

Suite staff helpful, courteous, efficient, professional. Senior ship management was superior from Master on. Ship interior is somewhat dated; carpet worn in some stairwells, overstuffed furniture in suite (612) is cumbersome, bulky; overwhelms sitting area. Sink faucet is too high and too close to edge-constantly cleaning up splashed water. Shower hardware is 'Euro-overkill'- gaudy, complicated, inefficient. Showers were a chore, not a pleasure. Try 'on/off- hot/cold' all on one simple faucet! Missed daily lectures on up coming port-of-call. Finally, very disappointed in lack of free wi-fi, and its generally poor quality. A cup of coffee at Starbucks warrants free wi-fi; shame on Silversea.

We have done two other Silversea cruises and we felt that the service was absolutely fantastic and incredibly luxurious. Although the itinerary for our cruise (Athens to Rome) was great, the service was just not up to the usual standards. The staff were competent, but did not meet our requests in as timely a fashion, while the service on previous cruises was fantastic. Also the staff were just not as much a pleasure to deal with. I sense that there was a management problem on the ship and that the staff were not happy. The food and wine was excellent as before (except for the pizza, which they should not serve if they can't do better). The boat also needs some updating: it is showing a little wear. The excursions were very overpriced, several times more than what could be arranged on shore and they were often mediocre and certainly not special. In contrast the Virtuoso excursion we took was lovely. Bottom line: we were disappointed in the cruise.

The Wind is showing its age. Temperatures onboard went from freezing cold in public areas to steaming hot in the auditorium. The dinner menus were not interesting. It was difficult to make choices for entrees. We ate at the Italian specialty restaurant often as well as the Rock Grill to avoid eating in the main dining room. The service was still very good and the wine selection was interesting. The port excursions were not inspiring and we had few choices. Docking in Brooklyn Naval Yard meant most of our time in NYC was spent on the shuttles to and from the ship rather than time seeing sites in Manhattan. Savannah was canceled prior to payment. They did offer a whole day excursion that had four hours on buses and four hours in the city. $300 per person seemed rather high. We took this cruise because Savannah had been a port. Little time spent in Portland, Maine as well.

We booked the flight through Silver Sea. We called their emergency number for help, but were advised "what do you want us to do about it?" We were hopeful they could book us on another flight, so we could make the cruise. Silver Sea could not have been less helpful. Thanks to my wife, and the ticket agent at the airport where we sped to the night before, we (4 of us) were rebooked to Miami through New Orleans so we could make the flight to Barbados the next morning. We even got a private lesson on how to play black jack. Bad weather meant major seasickness for both of us. I called down to the doctor and asked for something besides anti nausea pills since we were both actively vomiting. MD and RN both arrived with IM phenergan. The nurse took my temp (none) and BP (cuff didn't work) and gave me the shot. Also administered IM to my wife (no temp, no BP). The doc spoke briefly with the both of us - no exam of any sort. The cost? $2.50 for the med and $250 for professional services. So, nausea caused by weather, no pre-existing condition, no exam, they were there less than 20 minutes. Total cost over $500. We enjoy a small ship, thus the attention we receive are very much appreciated. Everything went well, except one rough day at sea. Tours were enjoyable and even a late arrival did not deter from the fun. Excellent and attentive staff. Really good Cruise Director.

We were pleased with our cabin, our butler Flynn went above and beyond in making sure all of our needs were met!! Enjoyed the service at all the restaurants and the food was consistently delicious!

The food was not good, but typical for Silversea. The Italian restaurant served ONLY pasta entrees. The Silversea excursions were boring.

My cabin on Silver Wind was very comfortable and my butler was very attentive & accommodating. She was excellent. The food was minimal & only fair. The menu didn’t really change much

Our experience on Silverseas ships has been consistently great during our more than our 100 days aboard with the Wind being no exception . One is truly "spoiled " by the quality of service and food .The entertainment and lectures were also enjoyable. Overall a very positive experience. I should mention that our Virtuoso hosts, Doug and Sandy , were the best yet.

This was a rough cruise insofar as the seas were rough otherwise it was fine. Nothing exciting, but very relaxing. The ship looks a little tired.

Very nice. St. Barths is the most desirable port and should be a two day stop. Skip PR altogether.
