We felt very pampered on this trip our first on Regent some of the eminities could have been omitted all drinks are included and bottles were sent to our suite which were not used because we could get anything at the many bars some of the tours were still made even tho it was very rainy some of them we could not even get off the bus also in Canne we got off the bus and were directed to a hotel for coffee the weather was so bed enjoyed the special treatment of the virtuoso hosts

This was our third cruise but first time with Regent. Our room was very nice, butler outstanding, food fabulous, and entertainment great. (The captain was delightfully humorous.) We had a wonderful cruise and would recommend Regent to anyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise aboard the Mariner. Our stateroom 1107 could not have been better. Very roomy and open. The balcony was perfect for the two of us. Our butler Bish, was charming and attentive. Being silver level and having the free wifi for the whole trip was a real plus. All of the included tours are enjoyable. My advice is to select your tours as early as possible. We were waitlisted on three and only one of those cleared for us to go.

We have done two cruises with Regent (both on the Mariner) and could not be more impressed. We have booked a third cruise with Regent which will be on the Voyager and are very much looking forward to it. Regent is a high end line and they do not disappoint.

Loved our suite and the veranda. Spent most of our time out there enjoying the Mediterranean and its beautiful views. Service was outstanding - especially our stewards - Raj and ? Food was good and the restaurants were lovely - especially the Terrace - all the way aft. My husband has never sailed before but, Regent confinced him that this is the only way to travel. Can't wait to plan our next trip.

This was our first cruise, and Regent Seven Seas certainly lived up to its reputation, setting the bar at the highest level. From the time we boarded our flight until we touched down at the end of our trip, everything was well-organized and executed flawlessly. We have sailed twice on Mariner and loved both experiences. The cabins are generous in size and well appointed. The size of the walk in cupboard and the bathroom will take your breath away. We enjoyed our Istanbul to Athens cruise as well as our Panama Canal cruise from Miami to Lima Peru. Regent Seven Seas is the only cruise line that we have tried that is fully all inclusive - air, cruise, shore excursions and alcoholic beverages. We shall definitely sail with them again soon.

Regent did a great job. Our suite was lovely and spacious (Penthouse A). The service was outstanding. The food varied, but was better in the signature restaurants. Our only critique would be on some of the shore excursions. The level of the guides varied but there were a couple that were just bad. I know Regent contracts with local agencies but they need to insist on the best guides for their ships. It makes all the difference.

Regent is the best Cruise Line we have ever traveled. On a Mediterranean trip the staff really took care of me. One day in the buffet lunch restaurant, I was walking with my cane in my right hand and my lunch plate in my left hand. I wanted to add a food item to my plate & I was in a clumsy position. One of the Regent staff saw what was happening and lunged at me to take my plate. It was both funny & wonderful, and a great example of how the staff gives their passengers great service.

I would recommend Regent Seven Seas Mariner, but would say that at least for our cruise, the overwhelming majority of passengers on the ship were 65 or older. Shore excursions were painfully slow and deliberate in their pace due to the age of the groups. So if you are in this age group, you will fit in like a glove, otherwise you may find it slow. Cuisine was excellent at all the onboard venues. Suite was as expected...no issues.

The cabin was very comfortable. The crew and staff from the captain to the stewardess assigned to our cabin were very professional. The organization of the ship was amazing: the procedures in place to move hundreds of people off the ship for onshore excursions work very well. We enjoyed the restaurants: the food and the wait staff. The communication between the captain, his crew and the passengers was excellent.

This was the best cruise ship experience we have had and we've been on at least 7 other cruises. I would love to book another cruise in the future. The crew was outstanding and the food was the best. I have nothing negative to say about the Regent Seven Seas Mariner. One thing I recommend though is that the tours start a little later so we don't have to get up so early since we are on vacation.

Regent is first class at all levels. We sailed on the Mariner, the staff was outstanding and service first class all the way. If I had one concern it would be the staterooms need to be updated, our first suite was not right but the staff quickly moved us to another suite, they repacked and moved us within 15 minutes.

The facilities in the suite were very good. The cabin stewards, Roland & Aureal, were excellent . At breakfast in the buffet restaurant, more help was needed. The 2 special restaurants were excellent.In The Compass Rose restaurant we had excellent service from Riski and Herman. We enjoyed all the tours and will certainly travel with this company again.

We recently took the cruise from Lima to Buenos Aires on the SSMariner.We've been on the ship many times in the past and, indeed it is our favorite Regent vessel.We always stay in a butler suite and love the size of the cabins.The location of the Observation Lounge is also a very nice feature, especially when viewing the Chilean Fjords.While the evening change over of the Veranda Restaurant to an Italian theme is much appreciated, we felt that the food offerings in the Compass Rose were not up to par.In the past we had trouble choosing between entrees,This time, we felt we were settling for something that we might eat.The service on the ship is wonderful-efficient and friendly.We will definitely sail on Mariner in the future.

Excellent ship and crew. Itinerary is unique and very interesting, but a few of the excursions were so-so (little you can do with the arid coastline in the first few days. Machu Picchu outstanding and local guide organization flawless. Falklands were a pleasant surprise and a highlight. Fiords and shipboard narration very well done and memorable. All in all a great trip.

Ship/cruise was great. The one (and a very, very important) exception was the flight arrangements made by Regent.  Our flight/flights from Reagan airport in VA to Rio  where we were to board the ship took 34 HOURS!!!!  Return flight schedule was much more reasonable.  I understand you give the best routes to repeat customers but THERE IS NO BETTER WAY TO TURN OFF NEW CUSTOMERS than to make such a long, exhausting journey to get to the boarding destination. I WILL NEVER TRAVEL OVER SEAS to do this again!!!

Regent is an exemplary cruise line.  Others seem "cheaper" by the brochure . . .but, when a customer puts the pencil to what all is included, there is no doubt Regent offers the best value!!  We were very pleased with our last cruise (Rome to Nice) . .the food was excellent, service superb, all-inclusive was just exactly what they  promised and advertised.    None of these areas disappointed.  However, I do recommend to Regent that they endeavor to book the air flights more time-responsible for their clients.  We travelled in a very round-about fashion . .and it took an inordinate amount of time to return home.  That was fatiguing and unnecessary in my opinion!  Other than this recommendation, butler service, staff friendliness and willingness to provide the best service possible and freshness of the ship could not have been more exceptional!!  I have no hesitancy in giving Regent the highest marks possible!

A couple with us had a large back of the boat suite and they were chargd for wifi. They were gracious enough not to let it ruin their or ours trip but I thought it very cheap of regents.

Regent fouled up our flight arrangements by booking my wife and I in seats that were not adjacent. We also were disappointed with the hotel to ship transfer arrangements---there was a loss of control, and a lot of confusion. We had the same experience on an Alaskan cruise with the hotel to ship transfer.

The ship was beautiful but not my taste. The rooms were nice and the bathroom was spacious, though we could not turn off the water in the shower and the toilet overflowed at 3am. The food was good but not exceptional especially the specialty restaurants. It is a perfect trip if you want to snorkel every day, but not a lot to do for those who don't.

We are confirmed Regent passengers, and are very satisfied with the service provided. We usually know some of the staff and that makes us feel that we are coming home. We have been treated very nicely by all concerned and have met some friends over the past 25 years with whom we still correspond. The size of Regent ships is perfect for us - we're not interested in larger ships. In other words, Regent treats us fine!

The ship was beautifully decorated, had great entertainment and was just the right size. We loved the ports and the excursions were very well planned and executed. The staff always knew our names and treated us as VIP's. Our one constructive comment concerns the service in the main dining room. The wine waiters were great - once you caught their attention. There either seemed to be shortage of them or they did not make a practice of scanning their patrons with their eyes frequently to see if someone needed something. Just a small matter that can be easily fixed with a little service training. One other comment - we did not like the "buffet" service when La Veranda was turned into the Italian restaurant at night. If I want a Caesar salad, I want it prepared right and served to me tossed at my table - I do not want to go to a salad bar and make it from scant ingredients. The service and atmosphere could be a lot better in making that a more enjoyable "Italian Restaurant".

The Regent Cruise ship as a whole is first class. Embarkation went very smoothly. Food was excellent. The debarkation, however, left much to be desired. We were dropped off at the airport in Rome by a bus driver that spoke not a word of English. He unloaded the baggage and left. Our drop-off was in a bus parking lot. The airport entry was not in view. We really had no idea where to go or how to transport our luggage. Fellow passengers aided us in this regard.

Overall, cruise was good. Having sailed on several routes since 2007, I can say that things are not quite the same. The service was good, but seemed to be fewer on them. Food in Compass Rose was well prepared, but our dinner in Prime 7 was the worst I've ever experienced. Several members of our part of 13 said the steaks were mostly fat. The Prime Rib could hardily be cut and the 2-lb King Crab dinner looked like all scraps.

Just the fact that its all paid for ahead of time and no hidden surprises at the end of the cruise is a big plus. I like that the ship is smaller in size with fewer passengers. It has all the events of a big ship so I felt very comfortable doing whatever I wanted to do. Being all inclusive it was great not having to worry about anything but having a great time onboard. Not having to tip at the end of the cruise was a plus because the staff truly wanted you to have a great cruise and would do anything you asked. I loved the included internet service because on other cruise lines I wouldn't buy the internet service. Same thing applies to the shore excursions I would always pick and choose on other cruise lines but here I would take an excursion at every port even my husband came with me which he rarely did before. I also liked that we could go to smaller places where the larger ships couldn't. It's small ship cruising for me from now on.

This was our second time on the Regent SS Mariner. Would certainly use this cruise line and ship again. As I told the cruise line in their evaluation, their people at all levels were outstanding and the accommodations and food services were outstanding. Suggestions for improvements were in three areas: excursion timing, specialty dining rooms and WiFi availability and quality. Excursions seem to be in the middle of the day, often not allowing lunch or time to explore the port town. It is very hard to get a second reservation in the two specialty dining rooms. The WiFi is at best adequate, and realistically worse than that. In this day and age where everybody has at least one wireless device, to limit the WiFi to one device per cabin at a time is so out of date. Also, the quality of access for the one device allowed is very sporadic, even in port. They need to seriously upgrade their wireless routers to match the level of their service that they seek to deliver in all their other areas.

There were few decent "free" excursions.. They put us on 4 hr walking tours so I had to spend $900 purchasing excursions. One excursion which was meant to include lunch did not provide it. They gave a partial refund. It should have been a full refund as other tours of similar duration were free (but not available). Tender service very poor and slow. New waitstaff are poorly trained When phone reception for information they would tell us to look in the daily bulletin rather than provide it. Not usual standard of helpful service. I was going to book the May 22nd trip to the Med. next year and get the discount for booking onboard. We decided not to book. I informed the Cruise Specialist of this but he did not seem concerned and didn't even ask for my name to record my concerns. I think we will travel Seabourne. What's the point of paying more upfront for "free" excursions which are not available. Pay less for Seabourne then buy the excursions.

Our first time on Regent Cruise Lines, but not our last!! Upon Michele Thomas' recommendation, we went ahead and booked a 7 day Caribbean cruise with this line. We are so happy that we did. Lovely accommodations, terrific service and wonderful food. We'll definitely be going again.

Our fifth cruise on Regent was good but great. Sailing from Miami to Lima the itinerary was disappointing. Santa Marta was a waste and we only a few hours in Cartagena. Should have an over night in this fascinating city. However the staff and service was (as always) outstanding! Kudos the food and beverage manager who did an outstanding job.

Itinerary was boring. Not enough to do as there was only one lecturer and few activities that were truly interesting. There is little to see besides poverty. The most interesting city Panama was not one of our stops. Would not recommend this trip. There was a lot of illness on the ship and my husband contracted the flu which made us both lose over a week of vacation. In addition, the medical costs were excessive and I would warn other clients about that. We were charged $350 each for two packages of Tamaflu which sells for $110 each in the US. The most of the medicine and the doctor visit was $1450...a bit high, no?

On the final night we were advised while aboard the ship that our luggage would be left at the bottom of the gangway at the pier and we would be responsible to get to the airport on our own. The ship always has great food variety. Clean spacious rooms. Great staff, that can fix problems if you have concerns. All inclusive means all but the spa and gift shop. Tours drinks etc. are covered. You come home with very little on your shipboard account-- except for the spa. Know you costs before you travel.

One of our best ever, and we've done a lot of cruising.. Food, destinations, hospitality, ship's efficiency, entertainment.. young and wow!.. extreme talent! Blazing Boots!.. holy cow! My special dinner drink appearing as soon as we sat down.. Frederica, our server for dinner.. an energetic delight!.. and smaller ports of call in Alaska, charming.. Crab feed at lunch in Wrangell, yumm!.. Our Captain, Serena, great personality and the ship could really perform. Only suggestion, update the staterooms and bathrooms. Small bathtubs must become showers stalls. I'm not mobility challenged, yet, but still found it very awkward.

My husband and I just took my brother and sister-in-law on his "bucket list" trip--an Alaskan Cruise. He has a Stage 4 brain tumour and has wanted to take this trip for about 15 years. The staff of the Mariner heard about my brother's illness and upgraded his cabin to a Horizon View Suite with a butler. It set the tone for the whole trip. Having that extra room and having Shameer for whatever we needed was just the icing on the cake. It made the entire trip so much easier for him. We were able to order room service for most of our meals--much easier than going to the restaurants and the crowds and the noise are not good for him. Every staff member on the ship was very gracious and helpful. We rarely had to wait for anything that we needed. By the middle of the first day, everyone knew our name and our situation and did everything possible to make this trip so fantastic. We cannot thank you all enough. Major kudos to the Mariner and Regent Seven Seas!

While we found the accommodations/food/service to be excellent, we found the ship a little too small. There wasn't enough activity going on, especially at night. Many times, we felt as if we had the ship to ourselves. Dining options, with the exception of room service ended too early. Breakfast, and dinner at 9:30 respectively.

It was beyond our wildest expectations. While we knew we were going to be "pampered" on our first cruise, we didn't anticipate the kind, friendly, professional service that we received from every employee on the ship. Not one negative experience. The food was exquisite. The accommodations were spacious, comfortable and well-maintained. The entertainment was outstanding. The scenery was out of this world. Our cruise director, Lorraine Weimerskirch, was always on top of her game. Very approachable, helpful and entertaining, too. The "Daily Mariner" channel on the TV was a nice touch, highlighting the daily events on board and profiling various ship personnel. The lecture series offered by an Alaska expert was excellent. We never had a moment to wonder what we could do in our "spare" time. There's always something interesting to occupy our time. We're hoping our lottery numbers come through so we can think about taking another adventure on a Seven Seas ship.

Excellent. Very relaxing. Food was very good. Service was excellent. Room (Category F) was incredibly huge. For the first time we had plenty of drawer space and hangers. The walk-in closet and bathroom were spacious to the extreme. Only the nightly entertainment was forgettable. The other thing we noticed was that Regent wasn't big on encouraging folks to share tables. Most of the time they just sat you at a table for two (there were plenty). So if anyone wants more company they will need to ask for a shared table.

Mother Nature did her best to goof up this trip with Erma, Max, Jose, & Maria challenging our Captain & crew. The Captain did his very best to keep us safe & he did. Two stops had to be canceled & our final days provided lots of rocking & rolling but we still had a great time. The cabins were lovely; the bridge lessons & play were outstanding; really enjoyed having everything included up front; staff was very good & the special Virtuoso cocktail parties & events were an unexpected plus. We enjoyed a wonderful 18 day cruise and were welcomed back by many crew we knew from our cruise on the Mariner the year before. The Captain did an excellent job navigating us around hurricane Katie in Acapulco and then after we exited the canal, he brought us by hurricane Maria with minimal discomfort. We missed the ports of Acapulco and Nassau but we feel it was a small price to pay for our comfort and safety. We were disappointed that the much needed refurbish, which was to be done in Spring of 2017, was postponed until Spring of 2018 because it is very overdue.

We love the Regent Cruise Line. The Mariner ship holds just 700 passengers and rarely do you feel crowded since there are so many venues for eating, drinking, entertainment and relaxing. Having EVERYTHING included is the best part. Having tours, special dining and drinks as part of your vacation makes the trip even more relaxing. Food was delicious, well served and presented. The tours that I chose were outstanding. The guides were all very good and some were superb!! The entertainment was delightful and the ship was clean and beautiful. Great experience!

Lack of attention by crew members made this a disappointing experienced. We expected exceptional service and received less than average. Best to stick with Celebrity or Silver Seas if you want top quality service and attention to details on board. The Regent Seven Seas Cruises SS Mariner was an ideal ship for us. Large enough to be comfortable but not so large as to be a floating city (750 passengers). Our favorite places were dining at La Veranda outside to get sweeping views of wherever we were at. On cruise days we hung out outside of the Horizon Lounge, again at the rear of the ship, for shade and views of the open ocean. We were situated on Deck 7 near the middle of the ship and that minimized the pitching and rolling of the ship. The staff was very attentive perhaps too attentive for my taste but it was a very pleasant experience and it was fun exploring the various facilities and nooks and crannies of the ship. I'd definitely prefer smaller ships in the future with the Regent SS Mariner high on my list.

We booked a Horizon view suite. The cabin was spacious and the balcony was huge. Butler service, which was attentive. We didn't need unpacking or packing assistance, but we made use of other offers of service, including daily canapés before dinner, regular replenishment of our mini bar and the like. Unless you want more space there is no need to look at upgraded accommodations on Regent. The butler service is nice, for a single point of contact with all the ship's services, but one can just as easily ring up room service, housekeeping, reception or destination services with the same confidence. There are advantages to earlier booking for shore excursions and specialty dining, and a complimentary night's hotel stay before embarkation that come with higher booking classes, but they're not essential. The main dining room's galley is getting some much needed reconfiguration in her coming dry dock. That will alleviate the only shortcoming we experienced, inconsistency in dining.

We had a wonderful time aboard the ship. It was our longest cruise at 25 days and we were not ready to get off the ship. The itinerary made the cruise. There was a good balance of sea days to help us relax after many busy port days. Service in dining room was slow at times as the wait staff are run off their feet. Made for long dinners but when interesting conversations happening with other passengers it was okay. Loved the productions and having time to meet the cast members. Some of the other entertainment not as good or we were not interested. Enjoyed the cruise and would recommend to others

Just getting on the ship was like being in a zoo - this needs a lot of improvement. However, the main reason for my "NO" is the quality of the food, which should always be one of the great pleasures of cruising. Our first meal was passable, but it went 'south' from then on. There was no consistency in any food venue that we could count on....Except, 'Sette Mare'! We ate here for our last three nights on the ship and wished that we had done it at the start. On our second day I had the TEXMEX lunch and I spent the next several hours in the toilet. One meal that I sent back was a halibut dish covered in mashed potatoes and then possibly broiled for a few minutes to make it look palatable. The bacon at breakfast was completely overdone so that it was served crumbled in little bits. Even the servers had trouble dealing with it. I could go on and on.

Regent offers some of the best food of any cruise line, and we have taken cruises on virtually all of them. Service is also impeccable. We will continue using them. The small passenger complement allows for many amenities not found on other lines. I would only offer two criticisms. Their internet speed is, like many even larger cruise ships, woefully slow. Their entertainment was all musical--either production shows with little costume change or vocalists. We would have enjoyed some variety such as magic, ventriloquist, comedian, etc. The ship is scheduled for dry dock in 2018 so it will have many new features after that.

Very nice cruise. Service and food was top notch as were the excursions and entertainment. I give 5 stars to everything except the New Years Eve afterparty. The DJ Foggy was playing hip hop only. Music not conducive to all age groups. It should have been different for that occasion or another lounge should have provided other type of dancing music. Latin, ballroom, slow, Rick and roll. Etc. I understand the ship is overdue for major renovations. It certainly look it. Regent needs to get that done.

Time aboard Mariner was great. Food and beverage was excellent. Staff are wonderful. However, Regent failed in providing us with a list of Tours in Panama City when we booked our tours. Because of this oversight, we booked a return trip and tours to Panama City 2 months prior to when we disembarked in Lima. This set us back several thousands of dollars. We wouldn't have booked this 2nd excursion if Regent had not committed the oversight error. They still haven't owned up to it, despite their own documents displaying the error. If Regent don't acknowledge their error and our added expense, we will cancel our next pending reservation with Regent.

This was our second trip with Regent and coincidentally, our second time on the Mariner. We love the small ship. The crew is wonderful, the food is excellent, and the facilities are excellent. I had three, yes three!, massages of various types with the same massage therapist over the course of the cruise. All were wonderful. Our room was beautiful. The ship was going into dry dock to be refurbished after this cruise, so we can only imagine that it will come out wonderfully refreshed and ready to serve another group of happy passengers.

Great fun. Encountered some rough seas which made tender travel rather rocky and made us think we were drunk as we lurched from deck to deck. Crew handled the outbreak of gastro with great efficiency and a lot of hard work. Crew members were cheery and polite, helpful at all times, and looked after us extremely well. Good programme, lots to do, no excuse to be bored. Food was delicious, and we particularly enjoyed our dinners in Signatures.

I found the Regent staff very friendly and helpful. This includes the room attendants and room service too. The excursions were organized and timely. The meals in all the restaurants were very good, especially fine dining. Maybe the best thing I noticed is that there is as many activities to participate in as one would like or not; they leave it up to you to decide...it's your vacation. No pressure. Easy to plan your day, elegant casual dress for evening. The cruise entertainers were excellent.

I was a little disappointed in the level of service on the Mariner because this was the highest price per day we have paid of the 23 cruises taken over the past 25 years. The food was the best I have ever had on a ship, however. The wait between courses at dinner was longer than reasonable, I thought, and wonder if there’s been a reduction in staff. Ballroom dancing is our anticipated activity on a cruise so we were disappointed with the “dance music” (more country & performance music out of the duo than waltz, foxtrot and tango) AND the limited schedule of music. The line is not catering to dancers, unfortunately. Perhaps when the Mariner comes out of dry dock there will be an improvement in the service - maybe pride of ship will have an effect?

Regents is my cruise line of choice. I do not like large ships. The service is impeccable. The food is excellent, well prepared and presented. The ship is beautiful after a recent refitting. I like the fact that the up front payment includes everything but special tours. The provided tours are great and provide insight into the culture of the region being visited. They use experts to provide additional lectures to further enhance the experience. Will I go back again? I have two more cruises scheduled with Regents in the next year.

Most of crew were polite and friendly, stewards on deck 7, aft, were great. Boutique staff not so much. Best restaurant was Sette Mari, then Chartreuse. La Veranda best breakfast. Compass rose too bright, too many tables right next to service areas, almost got hit with flying shards of broken plate! Which was not cleaned up well,leaving pieces on floor. Overall, great itinerary, lots of sea days allowing us to relax and fraternize with other people, and enjoy the ship.

This was our first cruise and we loved it. The ship had 700 guests and we never felt crowded or herded. The attention was truly individual by a wonderful international staff. The ship was spotless, the food in all restaurants was phenomenal, and the included excursions were amazing. We toured bays and inlets of the Inner Passage, saw two glaciers up close, hiked in Tonga’s Rainforest, and visited Sitka, Skagway, Ketchikan, Juneau, and explored by boat, bus, narrow gauge railroad, and foot. We loved daily high tea at 4 pm and the comfort of the Mariner. Just right for us. We are thinking of another cruise with Regent. Well worth the price; good value.

Everything about this cruise was spectacular, from the lecturers to the dining room china. This is the second time I have sailed with Regent and they remain flawless. The staff are helpful without being intrusive. The food is delicious - I live in Seattle and know good seafood; the meals on the Mariner were top-notch. The ship has recently been renovated and the decor is elegant. I hated to leave.

The Mariner looks very nice after dry dock. I would cruise again on her, without hesitation. We were three to a cabin (Penthouse C Rm 830) and were very comfortable without any space constrictions. The bath/shower combo was difficult to get in and out of, but the shower worked very well. No complaints. I would cruise Regent again. I find the all-inclusive with excursions provides less stress (in comparison to Silversea and Crystal). The coffee bar 'starbucks' type bar is excellent. I love Prime 7. Compass Rose has hotel type food, but service is excellent. Staff on the ship overall excellent.

A pleasant experience! Booked 5 suites in a row on deck 10 for my family. Was disappointed that 3 of my tours were canceled. Regent's land operator was having trouble with their helicopters and were not flying. The ship made no effort to get another operator, but my son-in-law was able to go on the sled ride and also the crab feast by booking on his own at the pier. Why did the Seven Seas not make other plans when they knew they were not going to fly??? Very disappointed. The panning for gold was disappointing as well. Need to redo excursions.

This was our ninth cruise with Regent, so we obviously enjoy this cruise line. The Mariner was newly refurbished and was very nice. We particularly liked the enlarged Coffee Connection. We also like the way you can walk out from the Observation Lounge onto one of the side outer decks. We enjoyed having most of our meals in Compass Rose, unhurried and luxurious, although Chartreuse and Prime 7 were also great.

We loved cruising on the Mariner. It was our first cruise. Everything about the ship - crew, food, suites, service was spectacular and far surpassed our expectations. Every time we met other passengers who had cruised before we asked them to compare their other cruise lines with Regent and every person said there was no comparison. They told us to stick with Regent because we would not get the same experience with a larger ship. We our looking forward to planning another cruise with Regent.

So nice being on a smaller ship with a lot of attention to detail. Cabins are very nice size, and onboard amenities are great. Food and drinks were also very good. I would suggest they add a more casual spot for dinner. Sometimes you just want something more relaxed and simple. I also am not a fan of dress codes. I'm on vacation, and I am paying to be there, so I should be able to wear whatever I want. I can understand something as simple as "no shifts, no shoes, no service", but beyond that, dress codes on vacation seem antiquated...

The ship was truly a luxurious floating hotel. The service & amenities were the finest. However, there was a problem accommodating large parties in some of the more popular restaurants. They only allowed 2 reservations for the entire trip. There should have been a way to reserve restaurants once on board or else keep some seating open for patrons who come early and ask for seating after a short wait.

I cannot imagine a better experience than the the 7 days at sea with the mariner. The ship is exceptional in every way. The crew was attentive, polite, and addressed every need. The boarding process was painless, the rooms were maintained to the highest standard, with ample room for luggage, closet space, bed and bathroom comforts, and first class amenities. The on board activities were ample and the evening shows of the highest caliber. The dining areas were spacious with superb food and beverage choices. We were sad to leave such a well maintained and operated ship with a crew that could not be better. Would recommend this ship to anyone who appreciate a grest curise experience.

This was our first time cruising on a Regent ship. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It was beyond our expectations. Our suite was well appointed, spacious and comfortable and we splept well. The staff was very professional, friendly and always willing to do anything for us. The food, oh the food, was fantastic and we ate too much. We gained a little weight, but since we work out, we are almost back to normal. The excursions were very educational and interesting. We especially liked that the cost of the cruise was inclusive of all meals, drinks and activities so we didn't have to be cost conscious throughout the cruise.

We loved the Seven Seas Mariner! The day of the cruise, we upgraded to a Penthouse Suite with butler service. Boy, was that the best! The cruise ship itself is beautiful. We were worried because we had taken smaller Windstar cruises and Ama Waterways river cruises before with less than half the people expected aboard the Mariner, but with the 12 decks, it was never crowded. The staff is outstanding, and once they know what you like, they don't hesitate to accommodate you in any way they can. They have lots of excursions to choose from, which is nice because we traveled with another couple and not everyone has the same taste. The food is exceptional, especially the Prime steakhouse. The onboard lecturer was very interesting, we took a tour of the galley, did a Connoisseur's Wine Luncheon and had a really great time. Will definitely sail with Regent again.

The mariner is an older ship and it shows in some places. The remodeling changed up some things like the bathrooms near the theater have only 2 urinals and one commode that is so small you can barely get into it. They also moved the Boutique where it is hard to find and much smaller on other ships with limited inventory. It doesn't even have room for a chair so someone could sit down to try on shoes. In the theater most of the live entertainment was done by the ships dancers. They did have a great singer onboard who did 2 performances. To fill in on a couple of nights they played a movie in the theatre. Two of the bars did have a local musician play for an hour before we left port, and they were fun. Food service the first 2 nights was not up to Regent standards, but the Maiter'ds on the ship took things in hand and got everything moving the right way. One other thought the Virtuoso tour was great fun with a private rail car with leather, swivel chairs plus food & drink.
