This was our first cruise on Seabourn, so we can't compare it to other ships in the Seabourn fleet. That said: we thought the ship was first class in every respect and we liked the size of the ship. We liked the dining options and the activities that were available on board. We also liked the shore excursions that we booked through Seabourn. As an aside, some of the people we met who were veterans of Seabourn cruising felt the ship was a little too large, meaning they preferred the smaller Seabourn ships with fewer passengers.

This is a beautiful ship. It does not feel like it accommodates 600 people but has the feeling of being smaller. Our suite was spacious and beautifully appointed. Several of the staff knew our names from the beginning of the cruise. The food was wonderful and the service great for the most part. Given that it has only been in service a couple of month, a few glitches were to be expected, but very minor. The shore excursions were well organized and the groups were small, making it easy to stay together and make friends. It was nice to not be expected to tip at the end of the cruise and to have all drinks included, not just at meals - even bottles of wine in our suite. We would definitely recommend Seabourn and will probably said with them again.

We loved the ship(just the right size) and the crew and the food(except for the Thomas Keller restaurant) which was a disappointment. We also would have loved to have better TV coverage(British Open) and free WIFI. Even the cheapest hotels in the US have free WIFI. Otherwise everything exceeded our expectations.

Thoroughly enjoyed our cruise aboard the Ovation. Our suite on the 11th deck was wonderful, convenient to early morning coffee in the Observation Lounge. Food was very good; staff very accommodating. We were impressed that restaurant staff knew our names after several days. Surprised that there were only 2 fine dining venues on board. (Regent “Explorer “ has 4.). Enjoyed the shore excursions and tour guides, a lot. Suggest that the all-day Virtuoso tour be concluded immediately after lunch. All morning, lunch, then 2 hours more touring is too much.

Ovation was just the right size ship - not too big and not too many people. Good food, wines, organisation. Crew were generally very courteous and helpful. Cabin staff were super. Disappointment was the late itinerary change having St Petersburg trip cut from 3 to 2 days and Ventspils added.

Ship overall is excellent and met our expectations having previously sailed on Silversea Silver Spirit twice and a Regent ship. This was our first Seabourn cruise. Ship seemed to sail smoother and quieter than prior cruises perhaps due to newer technology. Service, food, entertainment and accommodations were consistent with what we would expect for a cruise in this price range. Here are some specifics: The talent level of all entertainers was first rate. The Tim Rice show was very good. Wish the entertaining troupe did an additional show. We enjoyed having them in the club for some songs at night. Service in the Restaurant was overall good but a bit inconsistent and one night in particular was below par. We ordered off reserve wine list as the wines offered with dinner were not as varied and of quality that were poured by the glass in the Observation deck at no additional charge. Weather prevented us from the al fresco dining option. Room service was good.

Very nice, save a few hiccups (delayed boarding among them). Far from perfect, but pleasant. The ship is impeccably kept, public spaces and cabins are luxurious. Friendly staff are the big plus on a Seabourn cruise.

Overall the ship was very good. Accommodations, food and cabin service, staff, entertainment. There were service issues in the main restaurant--times when the wait staff seemed to disappear and delays in providing the food we ordered and in one case losing a reservation we had made months in advance to the Keller Restaurant. The biggest issue for us and apparently many other passengers was the itinerary. When we booked the cruise, almost a year in advance, the itinerary included 3 days in St. Petersburg(the most important reason we chose this cruise. Two months before sailing and after we had booked airlines, hotels, insurance, and tours, Seabourn cancelled one day and substituted a day in a no name, nothing town in Latvia. Repeated requests for an explanation both with the corporate office and on board resulted in no explanation.

Magnificent venue for a memorable destination, Norwegian fjords to the North Cape. Captain Padder exuded quiet confidence and mixed with guests the best we have ever seen, anywhere. Handre, Cruise Director, was the best ever. Seabourn Singers and Dancers and their shows were the best yet. Food and service were up to Seabourn's usual high standard.

Internet was out of operation 70% of the time after paying an additional $400 for ship's wifi connection. News channels were down much of the time. Shower fluctuated from hot to cold much of the trip. Our helicopter tour was cancelled at the last minute after the difficult and painful walk to the bus departure area. She has Osteoarthritis and it is most difficult for her to move about. We should have been alerted while we were still in our suite.

The Ovation is a beautiful new ship that is slightly larger than the older Seabourn ships but yet retains the same familiar feel (Seabourn Square, Colonnade etc.). The bar at the Keller Grill is a very nice addition where one can relax in a nice setting with piano music and singer. Overall, we enjoyed the Ovation and give it a high rating.

We enjoyed our recent cruise on the new Ovation. Like it's sister, the Encore, it offers a lot more space inside and out, and more dining options. We especially like the Thomas Keller Grill (with much more space and a lovely bar area compared to the three mid-sized ships). There were more outlets in our suite for direct 110 voltage plugs, and there seemed to be more cupboard storage than on the Encore. Service, as always, was superior. Our only problems occurred with the Seabourn Excursions in Spain -- which Seabourn is now well aware of. They have refunded our money for these tours, and have offered us a generous shipboard credit for our next cruise.

Being very keen Seabourn fans, we were really looking forward to boarding the new Seabourn ship in Lisbon. The staff are fantastic, the facilities 6 star as is the service. Knowing customers names and using them is flattering and typical Seabourn standard. Loved everything about being on board. I'm convinced Seabourn doesn't allow the word "NO" being said to any customer request - nothing is too small or big for the staff to rectify. One or two of the Seabourn excursions in Spain were perhaps not up to the usual Seabourn standard.

The ship was beautiful and the staff was very polite and professional. However, it did appear at times that the ship was understaffed. Towels were left on the floor in the spa area and around the main pool deck along with tables that needed to be cleared. In the evenings the bars seemed to be understaffed also. Several heated beds in the spa area did not work, which we paid $150.00 to use along with the steam rooms during the cruise. It was also disappointing not to have unlimited WiFi onboard given the price of the cruise and WiFi availability on ships of their peers. We traveled with friends (Mike and Rosie Hesse) from Houston, Texas who have sailed on other Seabourn vessels and recommended that we join them on the Ovation.

A cruise that was not the Best

First of all the staff on board this ship was outstanding. The problem is Seabourn. Seabourn does not give you what you want on a cruise. All other cruise lines we have used are there for us. Seabourn is always lookin for ways to cut corners and make more money. A cruise is for enjoyment not for having to pay for every little thing: like internet connection, 5 washing machines for over 400 people, same meals every week, very small menu for room service. Once again we enjoyed all the staff, but Seabourn will not be our most favorite cruise line.

The Seabourn Ovation is a newish ship (less than a year old) and still has some kinks to work out. The major issues, at least for those who have sailed on Seabourn before is that the crew, while courteous and generally efficient, lack the warmth that I have come to expect on Seabourn. The majority of Ovation's crew seem to be new to Seabourn and they need some seasoning. Some things did go awry for example missed items at dinner, people running around looking for things, etc. Not to say that this was horrible, just not as expected on Seabourn. I'd give them another 6 months or so to settle in.

Having travelled on various Seabourn ships, we have a distinct preference for the smaller ones. Service and attention to detail is not as good on the larger ships. Senior members of the crew are almost invisible on Ovation, and the shore excursion people were hopeless. Seabourn Square Guest Service staff bordered on surly. Bright lights were the baristas in the Seabourn square coffee area, the housekeeping staff, and many of the bar and wait staff.

Not only was our time aboard ship very enjoyable -- and we were very well cared for -- but the land excursions were well planned, informative, and pleasant. This was a first-rate experience. The lecturers were pretty good; I skipped the evening entertainment, which didn't promise to be my cup of tea, but I did enjoy the snippet of classical music I heard as well as the ethnic singing and dancing.

The Ovation's itinerary was a perfect mix of time at sea and on shore. However, the public seemed crowded on days at sea. For some ports excursions were limited. The training of the service was less than experienced on a previous cruise, and there were instances in which both they and their supervisors appeared to have less than positive interactions.

Wonderful Penthouse Suite, fine food, extraordinary fine wines and service improved on each day. We had our own private tours that Concierge Travel arranged and they were superb. Much less expensive and private for our group. We will take more Seabourn cruises but their is very stiff competition with Regent Explorer.

Our first time on Seabourn so kept comparing to Crystal and Oceania but after 14 days on board Seabourn comes out on top. The ship is a perfect size, the crew were excellent and the all inclusive makes shipboard life so easy when travelling with friends or making new friends. The only negative is there were never enough chairs around the pool and we noticed a few disgruntled passengers because of that.

This cruise was better than we expected! All details were cared for and accommodated. The food was delicious. I will say there were a couple of inconsistencies on the freshness of a few things for the breakfast buffet and only one dinner option- the lobster tail was not good at all - very dry- which was a disappointment BUT there was never a problem asking for a substitution. We were never made to feel like we were annoying if we asked for anything. Every person working on the ship was very friendly and there to please. I always feel that problems arise - it is how they are handled that truly identifies a company. Seabourn handled everything so well- we would go again without question!

The ship was nice, newer, and clean. The food and service were generally excellent. Seasoned cruisers offered, though, that they felt the service was better prior to being acquired by Carnival. Others offered that they thought the food was good but not as good as some competitors. On board service was generally acceptable, although we had some fairly minor issues while on boarding. We felt the staff handling those aspects were not particularly skillful or well informed.

This ship is a smaller ship than we have been on before, and while I was worried about this, my partner said I would be thrilled and want to go only on smaller ships after this, and he was right, the next cruise will definitely be on a smaller ship, the staff in the dining room actually called us by name, that would most likely never happen on a 3000 plus person ship. I am sold and we will definitely go on another Seabourn Cruise ( really like the all-inclusive concept)

Seabourn has really outdone itself. I have sailed on five ships of this ultra posh line and this is the most beautiful of all. It is the largest but still a relatively small cruise ship. The restaurants, shows and pool area are lavish and offer something for everyone. The ship is the newest of the line and the best!

This was my first Seabourn cruise. It was On the Ovation. It was a wonderful experience. From the first step on to the last step off. I was made to feel at home and special. All staff members were great. Service everywhere was excellent. I was address by my name by everyone, There was always some near to help. As a Solo traveler I especially enjoy the dinner invitation with a cruise member for dinner. I'd like single out Handre and Olivia who were especially attentive. I'd like to commend Christina the Cabin Steward, and all the employees that I came in contact with. Customer Service was great especially for a new passenger. Each added to my wonderful Seabourn Experience. would definitely cruise with you again.

I didn't ever imagine I'd find myself at a cocktail party, describing the highly attentive and easy check-in process at a cruise port, but, reader, it happened. Seabourn staff greeted us warmly and invited us to take a seat in a section of chairs. The magical part is, you never feel like you're waiting around. Within moments, you're directed to a waiting staff member. We arrived on the early side of check-in—and our rooms were ready. Once aboard, we entered a beautiful suite, and within moments, our stewardess was at the door, bearing glasses of champagne, and a warm welcome. Never mind there was a bottle of champagne, alongside a bottle of a favorite prosecco, chilling in an ice bucket. We were offered...a selection of soaps. The attentive service never wavered throughout the cruise—Ovation crew were always friendly, and kind. Even at their busiest, the service was thoughtful. We appreciated the simple elegance of the ship, the talented performers, the servers in every restaurant!

Too many hiccups

The cruise was far from enjoyable. The suite was s not made up on 4 occasions. We left the suite , and after 6 plus hours is wasn't touched. Same for evening service. It was non-existent on 5 nights. Agin, we left the suite for a minimum of 6 hours. The main dining room was a disaster! Service was haphazard at best. Slow and mediocre is a complement. The food, once it arrived and was correct, was outstanding. We wound up eating in the Colonade where the service was better. As for the TK Grill, we ate there twice having scenarios salad and steak both times. Ths service, although polished, was completely different on both occasions. Clue the TK choreographer to hone the presentation. I'm far from a picky person. But, This was more than enough hiccups to tolerate. Note to self....Never sail with Seabourn again.

Dealing with the consequences of the corona virus outbreak was very difficult, but extremely well-handled by Seabourn. Although the makeshift itinerary was disappointing, our time on the ship was enjoyable and the service faultless. Granting passengers 100% credit on a future trip was generous.

Had excellent trip, ship is newer, well laid out. Like pool and deck 5 back pool areas and options. Entertainment some of the best. Service excellent. Fun well traveled crowd. Observation Bar always fun, as was excellent bartender/mixologist in Keller restaurant (Alejandro). Thought food was just Ok, not to level of Silver Sea. Base wine brands also need to be improved.

First cruise after COVID...glad to get to travel again. Overall excellent cruise...ports (except Panama canal) were ordinary but knew that ahead of time. Crew was the best ever....they honestly seemed be glad to be back to work. Unfortunate that they had to wear masks but at least passengers were mask optional. Liked all the food and service...entertainment was well done. My only gripe....March Madness (NCAA tourney) was going on and the ship did not show any games. Seabourn should "upgrade" the sports available on TV.....they seem to want you to upgrade to premium wifi.

This cruise was so easy! The Seabourn crew made the whole experience just a wonderful time. The room was amazingly spacious and beautiful, with our own balcony. Lots of new crew members onboard, rumored to be from Crystal. Experienced crew were expected to train the newbies "on-the-job' without going thru the usual Seabourn customer service training. It showed, and only the experienced crew and officers greeted by name, which is not normal for Seabourn. I felt comfortable aboard the Ovation and also found my way around quickly. Compared to the Odyssey, it is larger, but the location of the facilities on board, such as the restaurants, is more or less the same. However, I noticed several small things that made me think that the standard is no longer the same compared to my previous trips with Seabourn. I also find it not optimal that the guests are virtually urged to obtain necessary information (e.g. about excursions) via the Seabourn Source, especially in view of the average age on board. Not everyone has their cell phone or tablet fully under control, which is why the staff in Seabourn Square was regularly confronted with IT problems, which sometimes resulted in quite long waiting times.

We had a delightful time aboard the Seabourn Ovation. A beautiful ship, the perfect size and number of passengers. The crew was amazing, friendly and always ready to help. The food was very good and we gained the usual number of pounds when on a two weeks cruise. Some miscommunication among the dining room staff but nothing too bad. The choice of ports had a lot to be desired. Some of the islands were dumps with nothing to do there nor to see. The choice of excursions was pretty poor, at some point we just went ashore and arranged our own tours and trips. Some of the passengers went ashore and did not feel secure so they came back aboard band spent the day by the pool. The communication among the staff could be better, a few misunderstandings could have been avoided. I have to mention the medical staff, I had a medical emergency and the doctor and nurses came through with flying colors. They were utterly amazing. Kudos to them. Overall we had a great time.

Seabourn spring break and crossing

The cruise was two distinct “legs”. First was in the Caribbean to Miami. Younger crowd…fun activities on deck. Great beach day in St. Kitts. Nice weather and interesting ports. Second leg was crossing Miami to Dover. Much older crowd…many who only do crossings. Our first crossing…not sure we will do again unless we go north to south. Hard to go from beautiful warm weather to cold overcast weather. Seabourn service was good….hard working crew…some were inexperienced but most all worked hard to please. Entertainment was enjoyable…we went to most shows. Enjoyed lectures and discussions on the crossing…also took advantage of some spa deals that made it attractive to get multiple treatments.

First the good news is that the Ovation can produce some excellent dining which we appreciated. We found our suite to be comfortable and of very high quality. The cruise itinerary was not especially inspiring but that has to be a function of our choosing. On the other hand, the fine food was simply not matched by the wines that accompanied it. Those selections ranged from average to unacceptable. Communication on board has gone 98% to the Internet. There were more than few folks who spent a lot of time trying to figure out what was happening and more than a few times that the Internet information was not correct. The controls for heating and cooling were ridiculous - no specific temperature could be set. Some entertainment was quite good but limited.Afternoon talks were very limited. Our sense is that housekeeping while good was stretching the staff’s abilities. There just didn’t seem to be the joy we had seen before. We enjoyed our trip but it fell short of expectations.

Seabourn are trying hard but still have some work to do to get back to pre COVID levels. We understand that they have needed to cut back & increase profits to pay off loans, but I feel that they are doing this to the detriment of the brand and to their very loyal clients. Service was great mostly but they need to up their game in the food stakes (pun intended). the delivery of food was very good and restaurant service levels excellent, but we found the choice of food was below par. I believe the new president has taken town hall Q&A sessions on verious ships recently and has promised to reinstate things to the way they were. I hope so - we have 2 more cruises booked in the next year and would need to see improvements

Having previously sailed with Seabourn, I did note a few changes that I wasn't able to embrace. Cabin Stewards as amazing as ever! Cultural Enrichment nothing short of fabulously engaging, current and well-integrated into the cruise itinerary. Not a fan of the Colonnade Theme Nights, nor the elimination of a selection of specialty bath amenities. I don't consider a 20-minute in-port (only) Signature Massage a perk. Overall, attentive, friendly, clean, cruise on the Ovation.

Seabourn’s Ovation is the best cruise ship anywhere. With a guest count of under 600 and spacious rooms, restaurants, and social rooms you always feel like you are on your own hatch. It also has world class food and drinks with an all inclusive price. No tipping is required. Elegance and sophistication sailing is how I would describe the experience.

What happened to the Ovation?

This was our 2nd cruise on the Ovation and the level of attentive service has dropped considerably since the 1st time we cruised on the Ovation. Several of the waiters in the bars and eating areas walked by without even looking to see if anything was needed. It was like they were in la-la land. Sometimes it took 15 minutes for a waiter to take our order in the Observation Bar.

We have cruised a number of times on Celebrity, in the Aqua class and were looking forward to a luxury experience on Seabourn based on prior reviews and other travelers' experiences. The ship was beautiful, our room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was large, food was incredible and the ship was clean and well maintained. Our suite attendants were wonderful, as was the cruise director. Our disappointment came with some of the service. In the Observation bar, it took 20 minutes or more to get someone to take a drink order, then it would get "lost" with the tablet system they were using. The bartenders we got to know were pretty great, but the servers were not. They would wander around with no sense of urgency or service. We saw this a little in the restuarants as well. Sad to see this not only after the reviews we had seen about the excellent staff, but for the price of a "luxury" cruise. We had better service on Celebrity with 2000+ passengers on board.

The training of the staff seemed less this year. In particular, help regarding the ports is essentially MIA (unless you are going on a Seabourn excursion- which are just ok and expensive). Food was very good and there is a lot to be said for small ship

Our time was relaxing and fun. We loved all the restaurants onboard along with the food and helpful, friendly staff. The ship interior was beautiful and easy to access all areas. We took advantage of the Customer Service staff on Level 7 a few times and they were knowledgeable and solved our concerns. Our room Stewards, Tahiana & Marvin, were friendly & our room always looked neat & clean after they had been in there. The excursions were fun & well handled. We enjoyed the nightly entertainment. We also enjoyed the caviar & champagne!

This Seabourn ship seemed a cut below the other two Seabourn ships we sailed on. Service was very good, food ranged from very good to outstanding, and the cabin we were in (and the service from our cabin attendants) was excellent. The number and variation of on-board activities was disappointing to us--especially the lack of bridge classes from a professional, and lining up bridge competition among passengers--that we'd experienced on the other two Seabourn cruises. And, the land tours were not very interesting--though some of that may be because we've seen a lot over our 50 years of travel.

A wonderful cruise

I just completed a 22 day cruise on the Ovation. The ship is lovely, the food was excellent, the officers and crew were very friendly and helpful, and the ports and excursions were interesting. My only criticism is the design of the suites. Mine seemed smaller than the usual Seabourn suite with a tiny shower, no side or coffee table by the couch, and not enough space for the chairs by the dining table. The Ovation is one of Seabourn's newer ships and I had the feeling they tried to squeeze in more suites by reducing the square footage.

Time aboard made up for really lousy weather. Had a nice corner we could not sit out on due to rain and cold winds so enjoyed the ship and the spa. Restaurant management a big flaw as main restaurant closed for lunch on port days and only open for 1 hour for lunch on sea days and 1 hour for breakfast on any day making the buffet restaurant an extremely crowded and an unpleasant atmosphere to fight for seating and food. Too wet and cold for outside restaurants.

The bigger than standard staterooms are a traveller's delight. But the wifi quality needs to meet the expectations of a five star rating. As does the cuisine. The land tour staff need to pick up their game and provide realistic and practical advice and up-to-date information for travellers who want to wander around independently on their shore excursions. Those criticisms aside, the service staff are a delight to deal with, signifying that Seabourn has first class recruitment and training. Overall Seabourn is a very good line and we enjoyed our first trip with it. But it has a few things to learn from Oceania and Crystal, which are our sources of comparison.

All the staff are amazing the food, the service everything is so wonderful. The caviar and champagne how much I miss. The rooms were a great size and the walk in robe was huge. The only feedback I would say is the pool staff should really put umbrellas up straight away. As a guest who has had skin cancer and melanoma. I asked for the umbrella to go up and some guests next to me told me they didn't want shade. Tuff!! Don't lay under an umbrella. The sunbeds were being saved constantly guests would save for friends and go to breakfast or lunch be gone over an hour or two. Seabourn needs to act on their policy that items do get removed after 30mins if not back as it is very unfair to other guests. If they did that it would stop the saving of sunbeds make everyone's holiday more enjoyable instead of frustration. I don't care who you are diamond or not. We have sailed 5 times on Seabourn Cruises, with an another one booked for 2025. Our most recent cruise was the 20 day cruise from Monaco to Monaco Criss crossing the Mediterranean onboard the Seabourn Ovation. It was a wonderful cruise visiting some of the best smaller ports that the larger cruise lines cannot get into to. Everything is included in your price , the food , restaurant choices and the ever willing staff on board made for a truly memorable holiday. The new Solis restaurant and bar area are an added bonus along with the casual Japanese restaurant. Can’t wait for our next Seabourn experience.

Everything was absolutely perfect from our room to the fine dining to the staff going out of the way to make you feel valued and welcome. Having been on Celebrity for the past few years in their Aqua Class I wasn’t expecting much difference in the service and overall experience. Boy was i wrong, I would encourage anyone to give Seabourn a chance, you truly won’t regret it. Thanks very much to all the incredible staff and we will see you soon!

We found the cruise ship to be very luxurious. The ‘owners suite’ made it much more spacious and gave us a lovely space to entertain our friends. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and accomodating. The only ‘entertainment’ we really enjoyed was the tour of the kitchen with the chef… the rest we would have been happy to miss. However we also decided to save a cruise for when it was very important to see the country from a ship - maybe Alaska or down the Nile. Otherwise we would prefer to travel independently, hiring a car and staying in Hotels.

I really enjoyed my cruise Rome to Barcelona, visiting places I had never been to before and enjoying the different towns, history, scenery, and cultures etc. Life on board was very well catered for, meals were excellent with plenty of options and variety. Waiters were always striving to please, courteous and helpful- except at Sollis. 1. We had been advised for our length of cruise, we could book twice at Sollis. One night had already been booked, so we visited the restaurant early on in the cruise, to book our second night. The person we spoke to was quite abrupt, unhelpful, pointed out we already had one booking - which we already knew - and said we could check about 6pm each night if we liked in case there was a table available. It certainly wasn’t the reception we expected. 2. On the night we did go, I was very surprised to hear the waitress address me as ‘Lovely’ - on more than one occasion- not something I expected in Seabourn’s book-only restaurant.

Seabourn: The Ovation is not up to Seabourn's reputation

Of the 10-12 cruises we have taken on Seabourn over the years, this was the first on the Ovation ship and the first disappointing Seabourn cruise. The service was not in keeping with Seabourn's top notch standards, when it took time to catch a server's attention or, after ordering something, one had to wait some time for it to arrive. This was particularly noticeable in the various cocktail lounges and the Collonade restaurant and it was our experience throughout the cruise. Housekeeping staff and service was outstanding. Food quality was excellent although portions were noticeably smaller. In addition to the less than expected top-notch service, little things were just not up to Seabourn's standards. For example, you had to ask for nuts when you ordered a drink - they used to be delivered routinely. And on this cruise, when you received them, they were peanuts, not mixed nuts. You expect peanuts on a Disney or Carnival cruise - not a Seabourn cruise.

Wow! Once again Seabourn has amazed us with attention to detail and optimal customer service. Our Cruise Director, Ross, was phenomenal. Our head suite attendant, Zita proiveded service above and beyond, and is certainly worthy of admiration, recognition, and a raise! Her assistant, Karen, one of the kindest folks ever - a great addition to the Seabourn Team. Captain was such a good sport with the caviar in the surf, and just walking and chatting with guests - as well as all of the officers. In the bar, Edgar and Nomcebo on deck 5 were more than outstanding!! Both are also worthy or recognition and a raise!

Overall, Seabourn is an exceptional cruise company and Ovation is a beautiful ship making for a wonderful experience. We took shore excursions to places that we've never heard of and, for the most part, enjoyed the learning experiences. Service on board was exceptional. The wait staff in the Colonnade, main dining room and Solis were very efficient, pleasant, and personable (often the same staff cover multiple venues). The guest lecturers were excellent and gave very helpful presentations on many topics including Mohammad, the movement of the Moors, the expulsion of the Moors from Spain, and the career of Napolean. Entertainment by a concert pianist, Harry the Piano, comedian ventriloquist and comedy magician were very good. Seabourn Six were good, but too loud; one didn’t need a hearing aid to listen. In the spirits department, Seabourn should update their offering to include wheat-based bourbons/whiskeys.

Ovation gets an ovation

This was our first time traveling with Seabourn and we couldn’t be more pleased. The rooms were spacious, bathrooms with double sinks, great food, staff were very accommodating. The itinerary was perfect, a great mix and of laid back and high end. We will definitely sail with them again.

The timer report shipped was excellent as usual. We met a lot of great people from Australia, New Zealand England, France, Germany, Canada we all bonded together we did everything for me in great restaurants to play trivia in the afternoon and that bartender knew what I like to drink and he was always there for me. I’ve been on Seaborn nine or 10 times and I do it because I know what to expect and the new solar restaurant was the highlight of the cruise the cuisine is outstanding and I had a great time. I wish I could eat there every night, but for breakfast at the lunches and the dinner it was all good entertainment. Every time they amaze me with the quality of these singers dance as well as their comedian so I like it because I don’t get surprised in a negative sense.

Overall a good ship and cruise

The ship was clean, the staff was mostly good (some dining staff were so so), our room attendants, Eden and Wilmar, were wonderful. Excursions were just OK, some of the itineraries and guides were lacking. The food was excellent. The spa was OK, a lot of wasted time spent waiting and doing paperwork that should have been part of the service. I did get an infection in my toe from a pedicure. The laundry lost my shirt, I reported it lost, they found it, I have yet to get it back. The most disappointing part was our Penthouse spa suite location. We were directly under the smokestacks which choked diesel fumes and soot on to our balcony.

Fabulous Experience

From the minute we boarded the Ovation until the time we disembarked we had the most incredible experience. The staff is beyond accommodating, the restaurants are great, the food is delicious and the entertainment is sensational. We enjoyed each of our five excursions, with excellent guides. You can be busy every minute, or you can relax if you wish. We chose to be on the go. Our cruise director, Ross Roberts was extraordinary. I could go on and on with zillions of compliments. There is no downside to a Seabourn cruise. Most people who we spoke with have done many Seabourn cruises. This was our second and we are booked for our third next July. Can’t wait!

Seabourn remains our preferred cruise provider because of the vibe onboard and the friendliness amongst passengers and staff. The on-deck champagne and caviar sail aways and dance parties create this atmosphere. The nightly entertainment is of a high quality. We aree concerned that Seabourn maybe losing some of its mojo and widely discussed for this reason: Dogs were allowed on board and in restaurant and other areas where it seemed there were no justifiable "special service needs" The Level 4 Restaurant wasn't up to our previous experience e.g. on formal nights rather that a choice between beef wellington & lobster it is now beef wellington & fish Lunch menus not as good as Regent SS

This was our second Seabourn Cruise and I would highly recommended this Cruise Line. We live smaller ships, and Seabourne delivers with a 600+ passenger level and a passenger/crew ratio that is exceptional. Unbelievably friendly and professional staff, smaller and interesting ports of call, and great entertainment.

Ship is gorgeous with some memorable spaces that you don’t find on other ships, like Seabourn Square and the Observation Bar. Onboard entertainment is better than Regent and other competitors. The food was the best we’ve ever had on a cruise. Exceptional in every way!

Beautiful boat. My only criticism of the ship is that I could hear neighbors while in my stateroom and there is no outdoor track. Noise has never been a problem in my suites on Silversea or on Explora. And even here, I can only speak to the one suite that I have occupied on this boat. The sushi was the best of any cruise line that I have been on.

The Seabourn line is certainly one of the best! The all-suite accommodations are luxurious and generously sized. The small ship size truly does make you feel like you’re part of a large family from the time you step on board to saying your good byes. In my opinion, the staff are the best in the cruise industry at what they do and clearly proud of what they do together to make everyone’s journey special. To a person, the staff were friendly, caring, accommodating, knowledgeable and professional. They reflect the Seabourn philosophy perfectly from housekeeping to food service, customer service to entertainment and shore services to home office support. Highly recommend Seabourn!

Treated Luxuriously for Seven Days. Very friendly staff, not in the least intrusive. Our cabin/stteroom/suite was one of their smallest and simplest, but we found it very comfortable an idyllic retreat from the many activities on the trip. The food was good and we found some of the evening entertinment to be very enjoyable--like, stop, stay in the bar, have another drink and listen to these people do another number enjoyable. Very easy to get on and off.

This was our first cruise with Seabourn Ovation and we were very happy with our overall experience. The crew was extremely courteous and professional and Simon, our Cruise Director was friendly and made a point to welcome us as first time Seabourn clients. The food was very good and the Observation bar and Solis were great options for cocktails. An area that needs improvement is with the basic wine package. We declined the chardonnay and sauvignon blanc and a couple other reds. The South African Chenin Blanc was the preferred white wine. Regarding excursions, it would be helpful if they advertised in advance the islands (Caribbean cruise) where they offered beach shuttles in advance for planning purposes. We would book Seabourn again.

Elevated Elegance on the Water

From the time we arrived in Barbados and greeted by our driver to the time we were dropped off by our driver at the International Airport in St. Maarten we were treated so incredibly well. I felt like royalty! The Fairmont Hotel we spent the night before we were to cruise was lovely and again, we were treated so well. Boarding Seaborne, we were warmly greeted by staff and directed to the room where we checked in and received our ID cards/room keys. We were then directed to the Colonnade in order to have lunch and a few minutes later our suite was ready to enter. The staff, restaurants, the SPA, the fitness center, all were first class. We ate. We slept. We read. We drank, a little. We left the ship twice during the week but never felt the need to do anything more. The SPA facilities were exceptional as were the staff, and I enjoyed four separate treatments. It was heavenly from start to finish!
