5th Alaska visit, 3 on UnCruise, 3 different boats. Did well on history immersion theme & highlights: Johns Hopkins glacier & Anan Creek Wrangell Island for bears, Not for the insecure on their feet. Crew was its usual young, vivacious group, Sr. entertainers had theater experience & lived up to their history/legacy billing. UnCruise provided our requested wines and Captain Dano Quinn was a cool guy and entertainer. UnCruise's boats are older & with that can come the occasional leak (our sink), or air conditioning rattle, but they were eventually addressed. Food is ok, Its probably as good as one could hope for on a smaller ship/boat. No Whales, 6:30 am one day, a a few people saw some in the near distance. Theory is water temp is running warmer than normal so krill have moved, & so have the humpbacks; Not much snow in August. Not enough time from plated breakfast finish to first excursion. Entire ship is either on heat or cool, windows have to be used for cool if ship is on heat.

Great itinenary, old ship

the ship was updated, but still old - plumbing, bathrooms, drawers stuck in room, rooms were small. However, and a big however, the crew, the itinerary, the enrichment talks, the service and the helpful attitude were terrific. I would recommend to others.

Small Ship Alaska Adventure

Our trip was a pleasure. With only 72 passenger on our ship, we were able to enjoy the company of almost everyone on the ship. The ports of call were generally those not visited by the larger cruise ships. The many excursions were educational and fun, with a great deal of variety. The staff were very attentive and worked hard to ensure we had a great time.

The riverboat trip on the Legacy down the Columbia and Snake Rivers along the OR/WA border into ID, following the Lewis and Clark Expedition, was one of the best tours of my life. Uncruise takes learning seriously. That was a priority for me. Every evening we had fascinating lectures on geology, history or culture of places to be visited. Everything was included in the package: excursions, dinner wine, after dinner sherries/ports, one massage. Comfortable cabins. Hot tubs on deck! Yoga classes. The crew (stewards, deckhands, engineer, captain, Heritage Guides) went above and beyond to keep us satisfied. The Guides were extremely knowledgeable of places we visited as well as towns we merely drove through. The meals were delicious, fresh, artfully arranged and accommodating to all sorts of dietary lifestyles (I'm vegan and didn't have to explain what it was.) With only 60 guests aboard, we got to know interesting, like-minded people. Perfection!

What a surprise! We didn't know what to expect, but wow were we surprised. A replica ship from the late 1800's. They tried to give us the experience of that time travel and educate us on Lewis and Clark. Job well done! One of our favorite trips. We will be traveling with them again!

We took the Uncruise adventure up the Columbia and Snake Rivers with a neat side trip thru Hell's Canyon. Excellent food - very good service = nice selection of local wines and open bar all included in base price. No additional charges for any side trips. We took the trip with our three adult kids, and everyone had a great time. We would be happy to recommend this to anyone.

Limited meals selection
Reviewed on: 21 Apr 2017
The cabin was satisfactory and the crew were great, but the meals options were very limited. Since I don't eat seafood and there was usually only one other option at meals which I sometimes just didn't want to try, I ended up skipping several meals. Otherwise it was a nice trip and I would have marked YES as recommending the boat.
