About Me
Growing up, Julia’s parents made it a priority to expose her to the world beyond her small hometown of Lexington, Virginia. From road trips across the U.S. to far-flung corners of the globe, their travels instilled in her a deep appreciation for cultural immersion, natural beauty, and off-the-beaten-path experiences. As much as she loved exploring new places, Julia didn’t stray far for college—being the proud Virginia enthusiast that she is—and attended the University of Virginia, where she earned her B.A. in Economics. During her time there, she caught the travel bug again, which led to a summer internship in Lisbon Portugal and as many trips with friends as a college student budget would allow. After graduating, she moved to Washington, DC, where she spent three years at a boutique marketing and communications agency. Craving a change of pace (and scenery), she relocated to Denver for a year and a half, where she split her time between ski slopes in the winter and hiking mountains in the summer. Ultimately, though, she felt a pull toward something more fulfilling—and landed in New York City to pursue a career that blends her love for travel with her passion for client service. As a Travel Coordinator at Local Foreigner, Julia brings warmth and creativity to her role as a Travel Coordinator—always seeking out the moments and experiences that make a trip unforgettable.
