Being born and raised in Hawaii sparked my early curiosity for travel. My true passion for travel wasn’t realized until many years later after I was married with children living in the Midwest. My family was given the opportunity to take a month-long sabbatical through my husband’s company. The decision was made quickly, Europe it is! For that month, we immersed ourselves in the different cultures, food, architecture, experiences, and people gaining an unexpected, but welcome emotional tie to beyond what we knew. When I planned our sabbatical, I was drawn to the creative process, the attention to detail and all the research to make sure everything was just right. There have been many trips since then and so it seemed like a natural progression to enter the luxury travel advisor market. My years of experience in corporate sales and interior design lead me to open Malia Round Travel LLC in late 2023, to make my dream a reality and I haven’t looked back since. We at MRT pride ourselves on creating unique, bespoke travel experiences that leave the heart and mind longing for more, upon return. We live by a prominent pillar, “deliver more than the client expects” and to always lead with authenticity and respect in everything we do.
