About Me
My name is Ximena Lascurain. I was born and raised in Mexico City.
At 16 years old, I left home to attend boarding school at Berkshire School in Sheffield, Massachusetts. Upon graduation, I returned to Mexico City to attend CESSA, a leading hospitality and culinary university in Mexico. In 2017, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts and Food Science.
Since graduating from CESSA, I have been enamored with the hospitality industry. My training allowed me to travel around the world and expand my knowledge in the hospitality and gastronomy world.
I was fortunate to have worked at different Michelin Star restaurants in the US and Spain. My latest position was at Vista Jet, a private jet company, in the private dining department. My responsibilities were to manage and plan each meal for our clientele with providers across the globe. The primary task was to make sure each meal arrived on time before departure and was prepared as per the client’s requests. With the goal of 100% clients satisfaction
My enclosed resume details my past positions and experience. I have developed a wider range of skills which include fine dining, luxury experience, and service in the hospitality industry, as well as working with providers and delivering customer service for high-end clients.
My first internship experience was in the kitchen of Eleven Madison Park restaurant in NYC. While learning a lot from my peers, I was able to thrive and perform at a high level in an environment that demanded excellence. My resume details similar experiences.
I believe that my capabilities are enhanced by my travels. I have had the opportunity to travel with family and friends all around Mexico, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Cuba, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, England, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, and more.
I always travel to learn as much as possible about the destination, the people, their culture, history, food, and everything the experience has to offer. I consider myself a very curious person and I easily adapt to any circumstance, which is very helpful when traveling.
I am certified with the Court of Master Sommeliers, making food and wine discovery at local travel points. Last year I became certified as a barista, so when I travel to a new place - researching specialty coffee shops is another one of my priorities. I enjoy reading magazines like Drift, which are resourceful in the coffee culture.
Last summer I spent two months in France, learning French and living in Paris. I traveled inside the country and visited vineyards across the country. Tasting French wines and eating local French food every day was an experience I will never forget. I also spent time in England and Scotland as part of this trip.
In 2017, after graduating from university, I traveled through Asia with one of my best friends who now is a chef at Taverna, one of the best restaurants in Mexico City. We backpacked through Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Singapore for two months. They learned so much about what Asia has to offer. We stayed at hostels, met the locals, and ate amazing food from the markets.
After my two months in Asia, my dad and brother met me in Sydney, Australia. We stayed at the Four Seasons for a week. We ate at some of the finest restaurants in Australia and then continued to travel to Melbourne and New Zealand. My experiences that summer in Asia and Oceania were different from each other but equally enjoyable.
Every summer, since I was very young, my family and I have traveled somewhere different in the world. We have gone on cruises in Alaska, river cruises through Europe, road trips through Mexico, numerous US destinations, Canada, and more.
In 2021, I lived with my fiance in Sun Valley, Idaho while he was playing semi-professional hockey for the winter. We traveled extensively through the West Coast and the Rocky Mountain region of the United States.
