I’m a West Texas native, living in San Angelo since childhood. My husband and I have four grown children…two UT Longhorns, a daughter that went abroad to University of St Andrews in Scotland for undergrad and University of Melbourne for masters, and fourth child is a TCU alum. We love to travel and thanks to the adventure-seeking daughter who went off to school, we in turn traveled even more, often-times to go see her or to meet up with her somewhere abroad. I have a medical background and had zero legit travel industry training or experience prior to this, but I realized early on how much I loved doing travel research and planning trips and in turn, started doing it for other friends and family. With their encouragement, I looked in to joining a host agency and through a referral, found Departure Lounge in Austin, TX. I finally took the plunge in the spring of 2023 and couldn’t be more excited to be planning trips for others “for real.” Having so many resources at my fingertips makes me feel like a kid in a candy store….so many sweet options to choose from to help curate amazing trips. Realizing that each traveler is different and figuring out how to best advocate for their trip needs and desires has been a fun challenge—whether it is in the states or abroad and whether it is a relaxing vacation or an adventurous trip with daily schedules lined out, I love attention to detail and the planning and can’t wait to start on the next trip!
