About Me

My wanderlust began during a college backpacking trip through Europe. What was meant to be a two-week adventure turned into two unforgettable months, and from that moment on, I knew exploring new places and connecting with people from all over the world would always be a part of my life.

In 2007, I discovered my love for travel planning while planning our wedding in Italy. Most of our guests were experiencing international travel for the first time, and watching them embrace the magic of those moments was truly life-changing for me.

Since then I have dreamed of making travel planning a career.

A family, three kids, countless adventures, and a whole lot of life later I decided to take my dreams seriously.

About Common Ground

When thinking of what to name my business and what I wanted it to represent, I looked for inspiration in all my travels.

What I kept coming back to is the people I have met. From backpacking Europe in college not speaking the same languages yet completely understanding each other, to gathering our most favorite people to celebrate our wedding in Italy. I remember looking behind me walking down the aisle to see complete strangers in the back of the church as they stopped to embrace this moment with us. To a dream once in a lifetime family trip to Fiji where we felt overwhelmed with the amount of genuine compassion the people we met had for each other and for people they had never met before… it’s the people that make it all worth it and keep you dreaming of your next experience. Well and the food too ;)

It’s the common ground we can all connect on… the smiles, the struggles, the celebrations, the traditions, the awareness of how much bigger the world is than our little bubbles. It’s humanity that makes us feel alive. “We travel not to escape our lives but to make sure our lives don’t escape us” I don’t know who said it first but I couldn’t agree more.

We focus on creating meaningful connections with people and cultures worldwide, offering a sense of well-being and balance through the magical, life-changing experience of travel.
