Heather Newbury, B.Sc., B.Ed is a Professional Travel Advisor and owner of Plena Vida Vacations, based in Newfoundland, Canada.

Heather was born and raised in Newfoundland but moved to Ontario, Canada along with her husband and two daughters in 2007 where she enjoyed fourteen amazing years as a High School Science Teacher. During that time, she was able to gain an incredible amount of travel experience through leading and co-leading five school Europe tours in addition to personal travel.

In 2021, the family moved back “home” to Newfoundland, just as their youngest daughter finished high school. Both daughters are now pursing university science degrees, like their momma (and dad too!).

Heather’s love for travel began at an early age as her parents would take her on trips to visit family in Ontario and Alberta or vacation in places like Old Orchard Beach, Orlando or Lake Placid. She followed suit with her own family and travelled to places like Washington, D.C, Savannah, and Naples, Florida for month long summer vacations with two young daughters in tow!

However, the travel bug bit real hard upon her first trip to Europe in 2011 and a flame was ignited that has only grown brighter over the years. She has experienced many European destinations such as England, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Hungary, Switzerland, Spain, and Poland. So far, her favourite locations include Rome, Barcelona, and Bruges.

Heather is excited to share her passion for travel with others. Travel educates and broadens perspectives. It reveals different viewpoints and opens minds and hearts to the beautiful diversity of humanity.

Heather’s unique skill set of educational expertise, group management and travel experience allow her to do more than plan a fun vacation. Her goal is to enrich lives with a travel experience that is authentic, educational, and unforgettable!
