In my first career as a Social Studies teacher I worked hard to fully immerse my students in the cultures and geography of the regions we studied. I have carried that love of teaching into our extensive family travel. We balance history, culture, volunteering and outdoor and adventure activities in each of our trips. We have hiked a glacier in Iceland and snorkeled with Manta Rays on Maui. We have cleaned Kauai beaches with Surfrider Foundation and made fresh pasta with a family in Italy. Of course, we also love shopping, dining in restaurants and enjoying resort amenities. Our travels are shaping our children into well-rounded global citizens.
