I have been in sales for over 43 years but I have never felt like a sales person as I look at my position more as a customer service representative. Although I am making a sale I feel strongly that the sales come to me because of my customer service rather than salesmanship skills. My clients feel comfortable leaving their travel needs in my hands rather than having to do it online by themselves. I have the airlines' computer system called GDS so while other stranded travelers are standing in line at the airport or trying to reach an airline by phone, my clients an call me or my after hours 800 number emergency service and we will get them protected on another carrier due to a cancelled flight or a natural disaster. The biggest compliment to me is not monetary reward but a referral from an existing client to a new one. Call it the old fashioned way but for me it is the only way : ) Specialties: Negotiating group travel deals, extra amenities for clients such as room or airline upgrades, price breaks , direct contact with airline reps etc.
