My Background

Lara brings a wealth of firsthand travel experience to her work as a travel advisor. For several years, she chronicled her family’s adventures through her successful blog, 2 Moms Travel, a popular family adventure platform following two moms and two kids as they explored the world together. Her thoughtfully planned itineraries quickly became reader favorites, making the transition to professional travel advising a natural next step.

Lara’s passion for travel began early. She studied multiple foreign languages, attended immersive language camps, and spent time as a high-school exchange student in Toluca, Mexico. These formative experiences sparked a lifelong curiosity about the world and ultimately led her to join the U.S. Army as an Intelligence Analyst. While stationed in Germany, she took full advantage of her location—traveling extensively and deepening her appreciation for culture, history, and global connection.

Since becoming a parent, Lara has passed that passion on to her children. Together, her family has traveled to nearly 30 countries, experiencing everything from their backyard of Glacier National Park to remote villages in Vietnam. Multi-generational travel holds a special place in her heart, and she takes pride in designing trips that allow grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and children to create meaningful memories together.

In recent years, Lara has developed a strong specialty in African travel, with firsthand experience exploring destinations such as Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Mauritius and Zanzibar. From gorilla trekking in Rwanda and safari lodges to culturally immersive experiences, such as visiting the Masai Mara, and conservation-focused journeys, she brings both deep research and on-the-ground knowledge to every itinerary. Her approach to Africa travel emphasizes ethical tourism, trusted local partners, and highly personalized planning—whether for first-time visitors or seasoned travelers seeking something extraordinary.

Lara and her family are avid luxury travelers and strong believers in the value of Virtuoso. When she’s not planning travel, Lara enjoys spending time with her wife, Deb, and their two children. She is deeply involved in her Missoula, Montana community, having served for ten years on the Missoula Symphony Board and currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Missoula Art Museum.
