Recent Discoveries & Adventures

2025 has been a busy year of exploration, discovering new gems in Türkiye—from the vibrant energy of Istanbul to the ancient wonders of Ephesus. A highlight was hiking through the breathtaking Bavarian Alps with family, combining adventure with meaningful time together. Looking ahead, new adventures await in Alaska and Ireland, along with a return to the charm of Northern Europe.

2024 was a year of Mediterranean exploration, from the cultural treasures of Rome, Southern Italy, Sardinia, and Sicily to the rediscovery of Malta's charm. I wandered through coastal towns in Southern Spain, explored Gibraltar for the first time, and reconnected with Morocco's magic. My fourth visit to Lisbon only deepened my appreciation for this captivating city—so much so that an unexpected extra night due to airline delays felt like a gift rather than an inconvenience.

A highlight of the year was a week-long Backroads walking adventure through British Columbia with my son—a perfect blend of active exploration and quality time in nature's stunning landscapes.

Late 2023 brought an extraordinary journey along the Mekong River with AmaWaterways through Vietnam and Cambodia, including a full day at the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat. The combination of breathtaking scenery, immersive countryside walks, rich history, and vibrant water and street markets created an experience I'm thrilled to share with my clients.

Recent years have taken me back to beloved destinations and new discoveries alike: revisiting London and Normandy while uncovering gems in Brittany and Northern Spain, staying in historic English manor homes and charming Spanish inns. I've returned to Portugal's enchanting landscapes, explored the still-undiscovered Ligurian coast of Italy, discovered the untouched beauty of the Canary Islands, and fallen in love with the vibrant cultures of Cuba and Sri Lanka.
