I started my career in travel in May 1973. I was a partner with Fortson Travel for 17 years. I opened Linda Long Travel in May 1990 and sold the agency in January 2018.

In the travel industry I have earned the endorsement of Certified Travel Counselor(CTC),Destination Specialist (DS), and Accredited Cruise Counselor (ACC). I am also a Rotarian since 1990. I was President of North Greenville Rotary Club 1998-1999. I have served as Secretary of this club since 1991 except for the year I was president. Greenville Technical College awarded me with the Outstanding Alumni Award in 1997. In 2007 I also received the President's Entrepreneurial Spirit Award from Greenville Technical College.

I have traveled to 6 of the 7 continents, I have also cruised on over 45 different itineraries including a River Cruise from Prague to Budapest. Budapest is an undiscovered jewel that I love to sell. My travels include many trips to Europe, Asia, Russia, Africa, Caribbean and Central and South America. My favorite destination is Santorini, Greece. I have visited there may times and I never tire of the beautiful blue water and the white dome roofs.

My husband, Dennis and I escort a group trip every year to a different destination. On one of these group trips, we were on a cruise in Vietnam and Admiral Zimwalt, his wife and Officers were having a Vietnam reunion. Admiral Zimwalt was the commander of the Navy Forces during the Vietnam War in 1968- 1970. Hearing some of their stories about the war made this one of my most memorial experiences.
