Your wonderful trip begins with a scenic drive along the stunning north-eastern coastline of Corfu past the most picturesque resorts of Dassia, Ipsos, Barbati, Nissaki, Agni, Kouloura. Go up the hill leading to the ancient village of Old Perithia and admire stunning views of the Greek mainland and the mountains of Albania. The ghost village of Old Perithia remains something of an enigma. This historic village, situated in the North-East corner of the island, just below Mount Pantokrator, is the oldest permanently inhabited settlement in Corfu, dating back to the 14th century. There are only 130 houses, built entirely by hand, some of which have now fallen into ruins. The village with its cobbled streets and ancient houses is encircled by eight churches and set amidst a beautiful countryside. Distinctive and picturesque, Old Perithia is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, as well as, a protected heritage site. ‘Suspended in time’ Old Perithia continues to be an enchanting discovery for visitors from all over the world. You will get to enjoy some ouzo with meze at one of the enchanting traditional tavernas.
