Uncovering the Quiet Charms of Southern Norway (8 days)

Arriving Oslo International Airport Gardermoen, you will be welcomed by your private driver/guide who will accompany you through your time in Norway. From Oslo airport Your driver will bring you through beautiful scenery to the town of Lillehammer. After a short tour of Lillehammer you will be taken up into the mountains to charming mountain lodge.

In the morning after breakfast your private driver/guide will pick you up at the hotel and bring you to downtown Lillehammer.In Lillehammer you will meet a local expert guide that will join you and take you for a full day of sight-seeing focusing on Maihaugen Museum, Lillehammer Art Museum and “Bjerkebæk” – the home of Sigrud Undset – one of Norway’s most prominent authors. But also the main arena from the 1994 Olympic Winter Games will normally be of interest. Your driver/guide will bring you back to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Having enjoyed breakfast, your private local expert hiking guide will pick you up and take you for a full day hiking experience in the Hafjell area. The area of Hafjell is ideal for hiking. You get to experience the wilderness and the silence of the majestic nature, but without too much effort. During the trip you will enjoy packed lunch sitting around the open fire.

After breakfast and check-out, your private driver/guide will pick you up and take you on a wonderful drive through the beautiful and varied landscapes of the interior of southern Norway. After about 2,5 hour you will arrive at your boutique Hotel in the Valdres area.In the afternoon a local private guide will take you for an hiking trip in the beautiful surrounding scenery! Return back to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner will be served in the hotel's dining room in the evening.

Early in the morning your private driver/guide will bring you up into the majestic Jotunheimen mountain massif in order to bring you on an epic Norwegian hike called “Besseggen”. Please note that you will normally not be alone! The hike is relatively demanding, but still a full day hike many people would do. "Besseggen" is a mountain ridge forged by the god Thor on the anvil of earth. It is the most spectacular hike in ‘The Home of the Giants’, Jotunheimen National Park. Return to your hotel in time for dinner.

Today you will leave the Valdres area and your driver/guide will take you through very remote and beautiful areas of the interior of southern Norway to Tuddal in Telemark. During today's Journey you will cross many Valleys and Mountains: Hemsedal, Hallingdal, Hardangervidda and the town of Rjukan before arriving at Tuddal. Accommodation at a historic mountain hotel.

In the morning after breakfast and check-out, your private driver/guide will bring you to the nearby Heddal Stave Church. Here you will meet with your private local expert guide who will give you a tour of this remarkable wooden structures - the Heddal Stave church. Having seen Heddal Stave Church Your driver will bring you to nearby city of Notodden. Here you will stop and explore the interesting Telemarksgalleriet Art Center. From Notodden your driver will take you to the silvermining town of Kongsberg founded by King Christian 4th in 1624. Here you will be able to stop and explore the old mines and/or the interesting Royal Coin and silver Museum. Kongsberg also has a beautiful Rococco style Church from 1761.From Kongsberg there is a 1,5 hour drive to downtown Oslo. Your driver/guide will take you to Hotel Continental.

After breakfast and check-out, your private driver will pick you up at the hotel and bring you back to Oslo international airport Gardermoen to catch your onward flight.
