Family Tour in Scotland (8 days)

Upon arrival at Edinburgh airport, meet your chauffeur for a transfer to the city centre. Drop-off your bags at the Balmoral Hotel and meet your private guide for a half-day walking tour of the Edinburgh Old Town. On your tour you will visit the National Museum of Scotland which has great exhibitions for the whole family and Edinburgh Castle.

Enter the magical world of Harry Potter this morning on a walking tour lasting about 1 hour 15 mins. The afternoon will be at your own leisure. On a sunny day, the hike up Arthur’s Seat promises great views over the city and the surrounding area. Alternatively, The Real Mary Kings Close or Dynamic Earth are great visits for families.

Meet your private driver-guide for the next 4 days in the lobby of your hotel this morning. You will leave Edinburgh behind and set off north. First, make a stop in South Queensferry to get a great view of the Forth Rail Bridge before driving across the Queensferry Crossing. Make a second stop near Perth at the Scone Palace for a visit with your driver-guide. Continue north towards Inverness. You will soon see the mountains getting higher as you enter the Cairngorm National Park. The Highland Folk Museum is a great place to learn more about the history of this area. Once you arrive in Inverness, check in at the Rocpool Reserve Hotel and enjoy the evening at your own leisure.

Check out this morning and depart with your driver-guide on a tour around the famous Loch Ness. Start with a visit to Urquhart Castle overlooking the loch. Afterwards get ready for an adrenaline filled experience when you board the RIB boat for an hour long cruise where you can do some Nessie spotting. In the afternoon, you will reach your accommodation in a beautiful Scottish Castle at Inverlochy.

Today you will enjoy a magical experience aboard the Jacobite Steam Train - perhaps better known as the Hogwarts Express. Board the train in Fort William and enjoy a full day excrusion as the train weaves its way along the West Highland Line to the small port of Mallaig. Along the way you will cross the famed Glenfinnan Viaduct which rose to fame in the Harry Potter movies. Return in the evening to your castle accommodation.

This morning after breakfast, check out and depart for the Highland Safari Centre near Aberfeldy from where you will depart on a private mountain safari. Enjoy lunch in a cosy mountain bothy before you return to the safari centre to get to know their Red Deer and Barn Owl. In the afternoon, reach your accommodation at the splended Gleneagles Resort

Today you will stay on site at Gleneagles and enjoy some of the wonderful family friendly activities offered. You will take part in a family dog handling experience followed by a taster falconry session within the grounds. The Resort also offers supervised babysitting and creche services for younger children and also a fun hangout space for older kids whilst the adults might wish to part-take in golf or a horse riding session.
