Arrive at Waterford Port where you are met by your private guide and commence your tour of Waterford.

Travel through Waterford City, Ireland’s oldest city. It is a walled city with Viking origins and medieval character. The parameters of the 10th century settlement can be clearly identified in The Viking Triangle which has the most historic urban medieval monument in Ireland, called Reginald’s Tower. The elegant Chamber of Commerce building, the City Hall and the Bishop's Palace are prime examples of beautiful 18th century architecture.

Travel along the beautiful scenic route to Lismore Castle. Arrive at the picturesque village of Lismore. Lismore is one of the most historic towns in Ireland. In 636 AD St. Carthage founded a monastery here. The town, after its monastic foundation, became a seat of learning and was known all over Europe. Lismore Castle it is not opened to the public but is very much a family home. Situated in a panoramic position overlooking the Blackwater Valley it has views over rolling, wooded hills to the Knockmealdown Mountains beyond. Whilst being totally private, the Castle is on the outskirts of the Heritage Town of Lismore and a mere 200 yard walk to all its amenities. Henry II visited Lismore in 1171 and chose a site for a castle. The castle passed to Sir Walter Raleigh in 1589 and Raleigh sold it to Richard Boyle, Earl of Cork, in 1602. He immediately set about fashioning the countryside round Lismore in the English way, with stocked deer parks, fruits orchards, fish ponds and other features of the English Lordly manor estate. In 1753, the castle passed to the 4th Duke of Devonshire on his marriage to Lady Charlotte and the present castle is still owned by the Devonshires.

Enjoy the wonderfully scenic drive known as the Vee, where the views are spectacular.

Stop for a delicious lunch in a local pub in Lismore before returning to Waterford Pier.
