Experiences have not been selected at this time

Each summer, the Tour de France races across the country, giving a select group of very talented cyclists a chance to see the country from a blurry perspective. On this cycling tour of the Loire Valley, knowing the difference between a front derailleur and a rear dropout isn't necessary. Hop on a bike and experience ornate chteaux, rustic markets, vineyards, and rural Gallic charm. Think of this as the perfect combination of slow food, fine wines, and remote country tracks - ideal for seeing ...

Pitched as a tour for people who hate tours--right on target. Most intellectually engaging trip I've ever done. Great sights, fun people, interesting history, immersive experience.

G Adventures combines the best cultural, scenic, culinary, and social experiences into one trip that leaves you feeling humbled, grateful, appreciative, and eager for more. Their organization and professionalism made traveling a breeze. Our trip left us feeling fulfilled, but it took me only a couple minutes with WiFi to start researching our next G Adventure.

I never thought that I would be find myself walking along the streets of the West Bank. Whether it was visiting a Palestinian refuge camp in Bethlehem, negotiating with a restaurant owner to get us seated in Old Jerusalem, or finding us a place for dinner in Nazareth, Naz made everything go smoothly because of his relationships with people in the community and his ability to make us feel accepted in whichever community we found ourselves.

As a whole the journey was awesome. The hotel that we stayed at the last 2 nights in Paris was nothing I expected. It was lacking in service, as there was only 1 employee at a time servicing the front desk, bartending, answering the phone and acting as concierge.

G Adventures is great when your CEO is great. We had 3 CEOs and 2/3 were fantastic. Unfortunately the 3rd CEO was responsible for our extra nights and excursions and that was difficult. I love G Adventures, but a poor CEO can make the trip very difficult.

Lima, Cusco, and Macchu Picchu with G Adventures

By: Dave and Vicki Leary

Reviewed on: 13 Feb 2019

The G Adventures tour guides were knowledgeable and spoke fluent English. We were greeted at each airport and taken to our hotels by our tour CEO at each city, which made the trip more enjoyable by removing the stress of figuring all that out in each new location. The city tours of Lima and Cusco were great, and the Macchu Picchu visit was excellent. When we had a bit of a medical issue with altitude sickness during our stay in Cusco, G Adventures representative Teresita quickly arranged for a doctor to come to our hotel room, and followed up with us throughout the day to check on us and to help us get back with our tour group a day later in time to make our Macchu Picchu trip. The only negative I would mention is the G Adventures choice of hotel bookings - a couple of the hotels that our group were booked in were not really up to the standards we were expecting - probably a 2 star at best for a couple of them.

Australia and New Zealand

These National Geographic G Adventures tours of Australia and New Zealand are a good value for the money. The guides were young, enthusiastic, and energetic and, oh yes, both our guides were also very good bus drivers! These tours included many retired folks like us, but also had a recent college graduate and several professional folks in their 30’s and 40’s. The solo travelers all seemed to be experienced adventurers and our travel groups seemed to meld well. The travel schedule is paced well and these tours required lots of walking and energy. We appreciated the “included” tours and activities and also enjoyed the many optional tours as well as the scheduled free time.
