Then, visit the Hacienda Sarapampa, which means 'corn field'. The hacienda being named after corn has been associated with the life of the Sacred Valley of the Incas since time immemorial, through the cultivation of Giant White Corn Cusco (designation of origin), a unique variety in the world for its characteristics and exceptional size. There, tour its cultivated fields and enjoy a delicious country meal. Return to the hotel.

Day 3
Sacred Valley, Peru
Sol y Luna Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the archaeological site of Moray. As with many Inca ruins, their exact function remains a mystery, although the design of ever-widening concentric circular terraces meant that each level had a different microclimate. Continue to Maras, where the salt ponds create a dazzling scene. Thousands of small ponds provide work and help feed many local families. During the Inca times, the salt deposits were an important economic center and of great value for the imperial economy.

Next, visit Mrs. Grandonia and Mrs. Alvarez, the renowned hat makers of Maras, who run an attractive handicraft shop that produces top hats. They love sharing their art with travelers who visit their city. Learn this ancient Andean activity and create your own hat. After this activity, be transfered to Casitas del Arco Iris for lunch. Casitas del Arco Iris is a hotel that offers eight bungalows surrounded by a wide vegetation, whose the benefit is destined to the projects of the Children of the Rainbow Foundation, which brings education and medical assistance for low-income families in the province of Urubamba Finally, to end the day, visit the surroundings of the Casitas del Arco Iris school and have a class with the children of the area. Return to the hotel.

SUMAQ Machu Picchu Hotel Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, you will go to the citadel of Ollantaytambo, a picturesque Andean town that still preserves Inca urbanism, crowned by an imposing fortress with terraces rising up the steep slope of the hill that supports it. The Inca Pachacutec ordered to burn the old site and rebuild a new one under the scheme of Inca architecture while his army made its way through the forest towards what would later become Machu Picchu and Vilcabamba. Afterwards, visit Albergue Ollantaytambo. There, tour the sustainable farm of the site and enjoy one of the gastronomic delights prepared over the years, even before the Incas, the pachamanca. Finally, be transferred to the Ollantaytambo station to take a train to Aguas Calientes to spend the night.

Day 5
Machu Picchu, Peru
Aguas Calientes, Peru
Cuzco, Peru
La Casona Inkaterra Breakfast, Lunch

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before boarding a bus for a 25-minute trip to Machu Picchu. The 'Lost City of the Incas' had remained abandoned in the skies for four centuries until the American explorer Hiram Bingham passed over it in 1911. It is believed that Machu Picchu was built in the 1450s by the Inca Emperor Pachacutec as a retreat vacation. The city would be abandoned after the Spanish conquest. The Spaniards never found it so it was saved from destruction. Instead, it was slowly swallowed by the jungle and hidden from harm. A guided tour explains the origins behind this imposing citadel and the most outstanding landmarks among the nearly 200 buildings, such as the monumental Plaza Mayor, the Royal Residence, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Circular Towers and the grounds of burial. After your tour, return to Aguas Calientes to take a train to Ollantaytambo station and transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

In the afternoon, be transferred to the Pisco Museum, where you have two activities: a pisco tasting and how to make a pisco sour. The tasting is a sensory journey from aromas to the palate, incorporating history and pisco processing while enjoying one of the best in Peru. Experience four different piscos, guided by a pisco specialist. Then, learn how to create your own pisco sour, Peru's favorite national drink, guided by the best bartender in Peru. Just returned from our Peru adventure designed by Nora. Excellent trip by all accounts! We began in Lima where we received a very informative tour with Jenny which ended in one of our best meals (and our first Pisco Sour!) Onward to Cusco where we were met by 2 wonderful gentlemen both named Juan, our tour guide and his driver, who remained with us for the rest of our trip. We spent 3 wonderful days in Urubamba in wonderful accommodations. Here we had excellent tours and 2 excellent meals which were pre-arranged . Then on to Machu Pichu which was both incredible and challenging! Juan, our guide, was with us throughout. We found him to be well educated regarding his country and his culture, he was always thoughtful, informative, flexible, and above all reliable. We finished in Cusco at an amazing hotel. Every meal arranged by Nora was superior and our guides (especially Juan) made our trip tremendous. All accommodations were exceptional! Perfectly arranged trip!

In all fairness, we had 6 hours between flights and elected to take advantage by touring Lima. Our guide was young and relatively inexperienced. It was obvious from his tour that most of his comments were memorized from books and as such came across as "canned presentations". Had -rebooked dinner as part of the tour. We cancelled for two reasons...too tired and questionable as to the allotted amount of time for dinner and return to the airport given the traffic.

We spent a week in Cusco/Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu. Our hotels were fantastic and all arrangements were great. Our guide Kol and driver Joel were very pleasant and knowledgeable. In spite of strikes and delays along the way on multiple days, they were always on time and helped us manage our time so that we could see everything we would have liked to. Great arrangements all around.

Excellent tour operator. The guides and planning completed by Lima Tours was outstanding. They were able to accommodate our requests and fully fulfilled their tour obligations as presented. They were also able to make a change when one of our travelers became ill. I would not hesitate tin recommending Lima Tours to anyone. Only one small hurdle was due to a internal flight delay they did not have a person to greet/meet us in Cuzco to take us to our hotel. Fairly insignificant on a 21 day jam packed private vacation.

We had the opportunity to use the services provided by Lima Tours on our vacation to Peru. From the time we landed in Lima to the time we left, Lima Tours went above and beyond our every expectation. The highlight of our trip was the Inca trail , and being on a hike for 4 days and camping out, you definitely want someone that knows what they are doing and able to work with you. All the staff - porters, guides, drivers were very professional and enthusiastic about their jobs. We had booked a private Tours throughout the trip and were never disappointed. I would highly recommend booking your trip with Lima Tours
