Day 4
Sabi Sand Game Reserve
Ulusaba Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
This morning you will be escorted to the airport to board your flight to Ulusaba Private Game Reserve, set in the heart of Sabi Sands Game Reserve that borders the sprawling Kruger National Park. Owned by Sir Richard Branson, this private reserve allows the traveller to enjoy over 10,000 acres of unspoilt, game-rich bush in almost absolute solitude. Ulusaba Safari Lodge is built along the banks of the dry Mabrak riverbed, and the rooms are built 'tree house' style. Your room may provide fascinating views of animals as they stroll past on their way to the nearby watering hole. Wooden swing bridges and candle lit-dinners in the Boma (outdoor dining room) are part of the charm and splendour of Safari Lodge.
Day 5
Sabi Sand Game Reserve
Ulusaba Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Ulusaba offers twice daily game drives in open 4x4 Land Rovers as well as guided Sunday walks with an armed experienced game ranger. The excellent game viewing experience is complimented by other activities such as stargazing, bird watching and moonlit bush dinners or sundowners (weather permitting).
Day 6
Sabi Sand Game Reserve
Ulusaba Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
As if some of the finest game viewing, cuisine and views in Africa weren't already enough, Ulusaba also has a boutique spa which must have the most exciting location of almost any spa on Earth. Located at Rock Lodge, 800 feet above the African Savannah, The Aroma Boma Virgin Touch Salon offers a fabulous range of treatments to help you relax and unwind after the excitement of game drive.
Day 7
Cape Winelands
Mont Rochelle Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Board your flight to Cape Town via Johannesburg and drive to the Cape Winelands. This afternoon you will arrive into the lovely town of Franschhoek (French Corner). Spectacular vineyards cover the mountain slopes settled 300 years ago by the Huguenots, who brought the French wine and food culture with them. Another of Sir Richard Branson's African gems, Mont Rochelle is a serene and soothing 22-room hotel nestled in some of South Africa's most deliciously pastoral scenery: personality-rich mountains above, farmland and lovely vineyards all around, the famously sweet town of Franschhoek nearby.
Day 8
Cape Winelands
Mont Rochelle Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Be prepared to witness the most beautiful - and bountiful - countryside anywhere in the world as you depart for wine tasting and estate touring through the Cape Winelands. Begin with a visit to the third generation family owned wine and cheese farm, Fairview. We'll ramble in Paarl's Spice Route, a brilliantly curated series of shops and attractions and artisan showcases, indulging in chocolate, wine pairings, and innovative craft beer. We break for lunch at Delair Graff Estate, one of the Cape's premier wine estates. We'll spend the afternoon at the fourth-generation Kanonkop Wine Estate, sampling its wares and roaming its collection of paintings, sculptures, and ceramics by some of South Africa's most revered and excitingly upcoming artists.
Day 9
Cape Town, South Africa
One&only Cape Town Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Drive to Cape Town today. Sheltered beneath the familiar shape of Table Mountain, Cape Town is the birthplace of modern South Africa as well as a historic port with a vital role in overseas trade between Europe and the East. Cape Town is home to the best of everything - museums, restaurants, hotels, and natural beauty. With stunning views of Table Mountain and Signal Hill, the chic island design and contemporary African flair of the One&Only Resort provides a fashionable home-away-from-home in Cape Town's Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. It's crescent-shaped architecture was created so all guestrooms and suites enjoy the majesty of Table Mountain. Clean lines, contemporary art and dark African woods accentuate the spacious, air-conditioned rooms and suites. Guests also enjoy 24-hour butler service.
Day 10
Cape Town, South Africa
One&only Cape Town Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, you will depart for Khayelitsha township. In addition to gaining insight into local life here, we have an opportunity to see-and contribute to-the powerful work being done at Rosie's Soup Kitchen. Rosie has been running the Kitchen for 19 years from a one-room shack. With the help of her volunteer team, she feeds hundreds of people on a daily basis-people who might not otherwise get a meal. After lunch, you will visit Table Mountain, a sandstone plateau rising up above the Cape Flats. Ascend to the top of the mountain (weather permitting) by the state-of-the-art revolving Cable Car and marvel at the breathtaking views over the city and its beaches. Spend your evening unwinding over dinner and discussing your enlightening afternoon.
Day 11
Cape Town, South Africa
One&only Cape Town Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, depart on a full day tour of the captivating Cape Peninsula. During the tour you will visit Cape Point, the southern extremity of the Cape Peninsula, affording visitors views that are unrivalled anywhere else in the world. The reserve has a variety of wildlife including baboons, grysbok, rhebok and the hard-to-spot eland. Next it's off to historic Simon's Town with its unique Victorian architecture. After lunch continue to the Boulders Penguin Colony, part of the Cape Peninsula National Park. Almost 3,000 African (jackass) penguins reign supreme amidst rounded rocks and fish-filled False Bay. Newly constructed boardwalks take visitors to within a few metres of the penguins.
Day 12
Cape Town, South Africa

Today you will be escorted to the International Airport for your flight home. We believe that you will now see why South Africans have historically paid tribute to their stunning homeland with such elegance and affection: "If Nature here wishes to make a mountain, she runs a range for five hundred miles; if a plain, she levels eighty; if a rock, she tilts five thousand feet of strata on end; our skies are higher and more intensely blue; our waves larger than others; our rivers fiercer. There is nothing measured, small nor petty in South Africa…" (Olive Schreiner, Thoughts on South Africa, 1892)

We chose carefully to find the best African Tour company that we believed would provide the best, stand behind its product and not offer lame excuses. Micato proved its excellence in every way, including acknowledging an error and standing behind its well earned reputation to make it right. Not all would do that, as we all know from experience. M did a remarkable job and worth the money.. Best personnel and logistics around. So.......the best, and proud to tell the world.

Micto has a reputation for extraordinary service which is well deserved. We chose the Grand Safari and secretly thought that it really wouldn't fully justify the name or the price but were pleasantly proved wrong. We were greeted by Jane and Felix Pinto, company founders at the start and end of the trip who made us feel a part of their family. Every effort was made to make the experience comfortable, luxurious and magical and all of our needs were anticipated. They even showed up with a birthday gift for me when I had forgotten all about the date! The guides are charming and knowledgable about animals, history, culture, politics - you name it. The drivers were magicians at anticipating animal behavior and getting us to just the right spot to see just the right animals. We've since met other Micto travelers whom we were pleased to note have had similar experiences. Don't go to Africa with anyone but Micato.

Everything from the moment we were picked up in Capetown, to the end of our trip in Nairobi was top rate. The guides and drivers were exceptional, the hotels were fabulous. We really felt spoiled by the way we were treated. The only downside had to do with sending our bags home that we weren't going to use on the 18 day safari - one of the five bags never made it out of South Africa. DHL has no idea what happened to it.

We recently completed our Micato Safari. We spent 13 days in Kenya and Tanzania. In short, the trip was perfect. Starting with our Nairobi Airport greeting by Micato (Salma). She raced us through customs where we were picked up in a Micato Land Cruiser and delivered to our hotel where we were met by Micato Concierge Virginia. She seamlessly checked us into our Nairobi hotel. Then we met Phillip, our Safari Guide. Phillip was top notch and made sure we had a fantastic time including a delicious lunch at the home of the Pintos (founders and owners of Micato). there is an incredible amount of detail that goes into the planning and execution of a African Safari. Phillip made it look easy (although we know he was working hard to make our experience perfect). If we decide to go back to Africa (or visit India), there is only one Safari company we'd use and that's Micato.
