Although the best views are on deck, if you prefer to sit inside, there's a comfortable, heated cabin with large viewing windows.
As soon as we head out of town and into the clear waters of Sitka Sound, wildlife begins to reveal itself. Commonly sighted creatures include brown bears on the beach, perching eagles, tufted puffins, sea otters lounging in the kelp, barking sea lions, harbor seals and maybe even whales feeding.
Your captain is an accomplished biologist and is ready and willing to answer your questions. His enthusiasm for the town and its surroundings is contagious. Having lived in Sitka for 25 years, he will share his experiences as a commercial salmon fisherman and tell you about the interesting history of Sitka including the Tlingit Alaska Native, the part the town played during World War II and and Sitka's Russian influence.
Please keep in mind that weather conditions play an integral role in our adventure and may determine where we go.
