Welcome in Sicily

Arrival at Palermo airport and Pick up by private English Speaking driver to the Regaleali Estate. Welcome briefing and overview of the tour with a good glass of Sicilian wine!

Visit of the winery and tasting of 5 wines technique. One of the hallmarks that distinguish Regaleali is the ability to match the style of welcome, culinary excellence and attention to details, with the ability to recreate a familiar atmosphere at the same time, intimate.

From Regaleali to Masseria Acque di Palermo (about 45 km -5/6 h)

After breakfast first meeting with the horses and then we will be ready to start our adventure. We will cross the mountains and vineyards that are situated trough the territory of Valledolmo, Alia and Roccapalumba, where we will be able to enjoy some spectacular views Light lunch in a nice pic nic area near Alia. In the afternoon we will arrive at the “Masseria Acque di Palermo” where we will be welcome by the Morello family. Masseria, that boasts an excellent breeding of cattle breed “Marchiggiana” and produce at the same time cereals and olive oil, today as been also used as a reception of guests, worthy of all comfort mixed with traditional flavours. Short tour of the structure.

From Masseria Masserie Acque di Palermo to Traina farm (about 50 km - 5/6 h)

Breakfast and marching for the longest day of the wine route.

We will cross around the village of Roccapalumba, Lercara Friddi and Prizzi. After being passed by the little village of Lercara Friddi we will be continuing towards the Natural Reserve of Monte Carcaci, last step before arrive at the Traina farm.

Climbing Monte Carcaci we will pass through the ancient path used in the past for the transhumance that are typical of these places to reach a pic nic area where we will find a warm welcome from our staff with a light lunch of various local products and other delicacies.

After lunch we will take the way leaving Monte Carcaci and heading behind the Country of Prizzi, along country roads between cultivated land and small rural dwellings.

We'll get to later under Monte Hippana, in front of Prizzi, site of an ancient Hellenic town dating from the seventh century. A.C. We will reach the Sosio river, that we will follow through a soft path very impressive and varied for arrive just outside the Traina Farm, with his horse breeding of Franches Montagnes and Connemara and the cereal and olive oil production. Relax with tea or herbal infusion. Dinner at Traina farm and overnight.

Abbazia Santa Maria del Bosco Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

From Traina farm to Santa Maria del bosco Abbey (about 50 km - 5/6 h)

Breakfast and road again. Crossing an old and almost unused farm road, we will reach the village of Palazzo Adriano. Short tour of the village with its typical characteristics and features (Albanian culture, Geological Museum and cinematographic, Medieval castle, Churches). Bordering the Gammauta lake, lulled by wheat fields and pastures to the eye, crossing the typical Sicilian countryside, we will get Chiusa Sclafani. Break and lunch in a pic nic area.

We will continue the trek penetrating inside the Natural Reserve of Monte Genuardo and its forest, through paths that magic within it will lead us to discover well-hidden and majestic, the Santa Maria del Bosco Abbey, with a history dating back to the early 1078 AD.

Inside one of the medieval cloisters an aperitif followed by a tour of the facility, led by the staff of the Abbey. Dinner and overnight at the Abbey.

From Santa Maria del bosco Abbey to Planeta “La foresteria”

Breakfast and departure towards the last stage of the Route of the wine. Along the wood of Monte Genuardo Natural Reserve we will dive inside to reach the highest vantage point, from which we will enjoy a beautiful landscape that embraces a view of Sambuca, Arancio Lake surrounded by its valley and the sea on the horizon.

There is no doubt that is a magical sight to see on horseback! Lunch in Sambuca hosted by La Puma family.

Let us behind the forest we will continue our ride to join the historic Planeta’s family winery:Ulmo.

Tour of the vineyard and cellars.

Here we will say hello to our horses and a van will transfer us to the Planeta Estate “La Foresteria” near Menfi. Dinner with wine tasting and overnight at the hotel.
