Description

Chef Siska and Tracy are collaborating to introduce Malaysian and Indonesian food to San Francisco. This dinner will be hosted at our commissary kitchen in the Mission, which is also a nonprofit culinary training school during the day serving low income students in the community. APPETIZER

Trio of Malaysian Starters

1) Umai: Borneo Malaysian inspired "ceviche" of pasteurized seasonal fish with citruses, onion, garlic, chili. 2) Cucur Badak: Fried sweet potato dumplings filled with savory coconut shrimp. 3) Tofu Achar Nyonya: Fried tofu pockets stuffed with turmeric pickles and peanuts.

ENTREE

Fish & Tamarind Laksa

Sour tamarind and mackerel broth, pineapple, mint, hot chili, fermented shellfish, torch lily, rice noodles. This dish is also known as Asam Laksa.

Eggplants & Quail Eggs Sambal

Charred Asian eggplants and quail eggs in spicy tomato sauce cooked in lemongrass, ginger, kaffir lime leaves.

Beef Rendang

Beef braised in coconut galangal, turmeric, and lemongrass. The liquid is reduced until the curry is savory and dry.

Indonesian Fried Rice

Indonesian fried rice served with a side of salad and house made peanut sauce.

DESSERT

Kuih Salat

Two-layered dessert of natural blue flower dyed sweet rice cake and a pudding made of Malaysian coconut cream custard called kaya.

My family LOVED our experience with eatwith Athens. The apartment with the view of the Acropolis and amazing homemade meal prepared by Dimitris and Savvas was a highlight of our trip.
