After a 30 minute ride, you will begin your visit with a stop at the Park Headquarters for an introduction and then board a local boat with your guide. By taking a riverboat tour to explore the mangroves, you will understand the ecosystem of the area. The mangrove-lined Prek Toeuk Sap River is an important habitat. Besides supporting a large population of fishing eagles, the river is also home to milky and adjutant storks and kingfishers, which are regularly spotted on river trips. The list of mammals includes deer, wild pigs, and fishing cats, although these are all elusive and you’re more likely to see monkeys.
Your boat will venture into some open water before landing at a white sand beach on one of the islands. Here, lunch will be served in the form of a picnic. There will be some time to enjoy the sunshine, relax, and snorkel a bit if you brought your swimsuit. Otherwise, you can just wade into the water.
You can choose to stay on the island or head back to Ream Park and do a short trek of about 5km with your guide through the forest.
You will return refreshed and ready for action!
