In the hands of a competent crew, you will feel comfortable as you leave the harbor area and head for Eyjafjord in North Iceland. Your search for whales and wildlife which requires a sense of their pattern into the Icelandic waters. We do depend on nature to provide your sightings, but a list shows that Eyjafjord humpbacks populate these waters and rarely does a sailing return without a long list of sightings so you have a great chance of getting your heartbeat up quickly. In 2016 our partners in Akureyri had 96% success on their whale watching expeditions, a pretty good percentage!
Humpback whales along with pilot whales, blue whales, dolphins, a myriad of arctic birds such as the guillermot, the razorbill, and the oystercatcher may come your way on this express show of nature. The humpbacks are becoming world famous as they cruise the fjord in the summer in a feeding frenzy, reaching the height of their activity when the warm summer sun shines most of the day and night.
