Known as the golden triangle of art, each of the museums included in this tour fulfills another portion of the history of Spanish culture. As they are all close together, you can easily walk between them with your guide who can point out some of the beautiful buildings and parks you pass along the way. Though the idea of three art museums in one day may sound paralyzing, each is special in its message and none are overly large. If you have time to see them, including these museums in your Madrid stay will create special thoughts about Spain and its history.

The Prado is one of the world's greatest museums with a rich collection of artwork that began with the Habsburg monarchs. Spanish art is incredible in its passion and content and, as does the culture, it relays the message of the times. Its collection includes works by Velazquez and de Goya, two of the greatest artists not only in Spain, but in the world. The museum is large and your guide will direct you to the most important pieces of the collection.

The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia is stunning and houses an outstanding contemporary art collection. Among the famous pieces you will see is Picasso's Guernica which has its own room. What is wonderful is that Guernica, which has not always lived in this museum, was moved here and now puts many other artworks also created for the Spanish Pavilion in Paris in 1937 into context. Pieces by Miro, Salvador Dali, and Juan Gris are part of this moving collection in a splendid building. You may want to include the photography of Spain taken in the 1950s by Brassai for Harper's Bazaar, so interesting when you view them in the country they portray.

Finally, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, a private collection of Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza. The Villahermosa Palace, the location of this collection, is one of the most important buildings in Madrid’s repertoire of palatial architecture. Its origins date from the early 17th century. The Thyssen fills the historical gaps in its counterparts' collections. With over 1,600 paintings, the Thyssen-Bornemisza collection was once the second largest private collection in the world after the British Royal Collection. The museum was opened in 1992 after an agreement was reached between the Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Spanish government. Here you will see many recognizable artists, including Titian, Goya, Caravaggio, VanGogh, Gauguin, and Cezanne, along with more Spanish artists that will become familiar during your tour.

In Cozumel we enjoyed the snorkeling that we did off a catamaran. The staff was friendly, very professional, and helpful with my first time snorkeling daughter. Grand Cayman we went to sting ray city with a trip and snorkeling. Staff and trip was amazing, crew very helpful and fun. in Jamaica we did a Dunn's River Falls excursion and private beach. We had fun but were not impressed with the staff, and their timeliness (waited around alot),

We did a private whale watching tour which was incredible. The train ride in Sitka which we were not going to do at first was spectacular. Scenery, comfort - a wonderful way to see the area and spend our time. We signed up for a Mendenhall Glacier trip plus Salmon bake. This one was so very commercial and although the glacier and waterfall were above our expectations, a short time was given to walk there and view. This left out two of our party as they could not move as fast as needed to return in the time frame of one hour. Then the BAKE- the food was marginally ok. They were out of the most important SMORES ingredients. It is crazy but that was advertised (we were willing to break our diets ) and we looked forward to them and then disappointed. The people were nice. the area was pretty but that one I would strongly advise friend not to sign up for.

Great experience. The tours of the Louvre, and Notrre Dame were great. The guide even helped me try to get Eiffel tower admission tickets switched after I had booked them on the wrong date.

Summer Hawaii Cruise

By: CGreene

I arranged a church group of 55 for a Hawaiian cruise. This was our first time to use ShoreTrips and we had VIP treatment as compared to the mega busloads arriving from the ship/hotels excursions. Many times we had a site all to ourselves and then were leaving when the larger groups arrived. With all of the excitement about the active volcano, we weren't sure what to expect when we arrived on the Big Island. Those taking the helicopter ride raved about the experience and others were amazed to truly explore, taste and see that there is much more to her than only the volcanos. Every guide was lovely and professional, in fact, when I asked my group of to each submit 2 of their personal favorite photos, one was a guide on the last day in Honolulu for the private Pearl Harbor/airport excursion. It was nice to choose a selection of excursions for my group and ShoreTrips truly worked hard to make every trip come to fruition. Highly recommend all types of excursions with them.
