Sail down the Rio Negro, passing by the native houses built on stilts, the wards of local boats, and floating gas stations and ice factory, down to the meeting of Rio Negro with Rio Solimões, the birth place of the mighty Amazon River. Watch the phenomenon of two rivers meeting, without their waters (light brown Rio Solimões and black Rio Negro) mixing. For miles and miles they flow side by side.
Continue to Lake January, an ecological Park situated between the two rivers. Lake January is full of the giant water lilies that Manaus is famous for. Board smaller boats with outboard motors for a ride through the small tributaries and flooded creeks. Afterwards, you will head back to the port by Riverboat.
