After being picked up in your private vehicle, you will drive to Hoge Veluwe National Park. De Hoge Veluwe National Park is 13,343 acres of variable landscape. It has beautiful forests, heathlands, sand drifts, meres and ponds, and is teeming with life, including wild hogs, red deer, roe deer, and mouflons. It will not be a surprise that it is one of the most visited attractions when in Amsterdam, though the ride is almost an hour through the countryside.
Once you have arrived at the park, you will be brought to the Kroller-Muller Museum. Founded by the wife of a wealthy Dutch industrialist, the Kroller-Muller museum is home to one of the largest Van Gogh collections in the world and contains 400 works by modernist artists, including Picasso, Fernand Leger, Diego Rivera, George Seurat, Juan Gris, and Piet Mondrian. Make sure you explore the famous sculpture garden, which is known for combining art, architecture, and nature in a unique setting. The collection is primarily 19th and 20th century and considered the best private collection in Europe.
Once you are finished at the museum, you will want to grab your cameras for your arrival into the picturesque town of Giethoorn. This remote and serene location should be considered the gold standard for life on the canals. Rather than main roads and streets, the village is only traveled by mini boats or bikes. Most houses are built on little islands connected to each other with high bridges. Without a doubt, this is one of the most unique and beautiful destinations in all of Europe!
