Cruising aboard his faithful ship, The Endeavour, he anchored here to replenish supplies of food, water, and wood. From that date forward until 1777, he visited four more times at the spot that became one of his favorite anchorages. Once your boat docks, you will have the chance to walk around the creek where James made beer for his crew as they shared the beach with untouched wildlife. Take some time to wander around the Captain Cook Monument to learn a bit more about his ventures or embark on a 1 KM walk to a nearby waterfall.
Since your boat is engine powered, we won't ask you to drop any sails, like the old captain might have, but going to and from Picton will allow you to soak in the natural beauty of Queen Charlotte Sound. We won't hold it against you if you yell out a "land ho!" upon arrival.
