Description

ShoreTrips' PREMIUM shared van tours are a perfect choice if you are looking for a deluxe tour that's economical but without the crowds of a big bus.

We will confirm your reservaton when we have at least 5 passengers booked. You will be notified about two weeks prior to the start of the cruise with options of more expensive private trips if we are not able to run the shared tour.

This one day tour is open to only passengers on cruise ships that are in port for one day. If your ship is in port for two or more days, you will not be confirmed.

- Permit for photo and/or video use in palaces and museums
- Hydrofoil ride up the Neva River
- Traditional Russian Style lunch
You will take an inside, guided tour of:
- St. Nicholas Cathedral--monument of Russian naval glory
- Catherine Palace--home of the legendary Amber Room
- Fountain Park--also known as "the Russian Versailles"
- Hermitage Museum--one of the largest museums of art and culture in the world
- Church of the Spilt Blood--a marvelous Russian-style church
You will drive by/see the outside of:
- Nevsky Prospekt--main street filled with cathedrals and boutiques
- National Library

- Square of Arts
- Russian Museum

- Michael's Castle
- Monument, Summer Garden, and Log Cabin of Peter the Great
- Spit of Basil Island
- St. Petersburg University
- The Admiralty
- Theater Square-Mariinksky Theatre

Your pickup at the ship will bring you into St. Petersburg for an introductory tour of the city. You can expect to see the most beautiful, historical sites in St. Petersburg, with photo stops along the way. Your English-speaking guide is well-acquainted with his/her native city and will prove to be an excellent escort as you see Nevsky Prospekt; the National Library; Kazan Cathedral; the Square of Arts, including the Russian Museum, the Ethnographical Museum, and Michael's Castle; Monument, Summer Garden, and Log Cabin of Peter the Great; Aurora Battleship; Spit of Basil Island; St. Petersburg University; the Admirality; Theatre Square with the famous Mariinsky Theatre; and St. Nicholas Cathedral.

If you're lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the brides and grooms dressed in full regalia and lined up at the government building for their weddings, as marriages take place all day long, almost every day.

Next, we'll tour Catherine Palace and then drive to Peterhof where we'll stop for lunch. After a walk through Fountain Park, we'll travel back to the city by hydrofoil along the Neva River. Then we'll tour the must-see Hermitage Museum, followed by a visit to one of the most stirring monuments, the Church of the Spilt Blood, also called Church of the Resurrection of Christ. Though you won't need a lengthy visit here, it will prove memorable for long after your visit.

We'll return you to your cruise ship after an exhilarating day in this magnificent Russian city.

This excursion is a non-visa tour for cruise ship passengers. According to Russian Federation law, visas are not required for shore excursions if you book through companies that are officially licensed and authorized by the Russian government to receive foreign cruise passengers and to operate inside St. Petersburg port areas. We will supply you with the tour ticket, called a blanket visa or booking confirmation, which you will pass to the customs/immigration offices. Due to the length of time needed to acquire these tour tickets, we ask that you please MAKE YOUR BOOKING NO LESS THAN 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE DAY YOU LEAVE HOME. Thank you.

We will need the following information at the time of booking: Each passenger's full name as it appears in their passport; Citizenship; Date of birth; Passport number; Passport issue date; Passport expiration date; Arrival date into St. Petersburg; Departure date from St. Petersburg.

Any information forwarded to Shoretrips necessary to obtain a visa must be exact. We will pass on a $10 processing fee if corrections are necessary after we receive the visa. This is a per person fee, charged for each visa that requires changes.

This tour includes standard admission to all museums listed in the itinerary, guide's services for 1 day, driver's services for 1 day, lunch, transportation by minivan, permit for photo and/or video use in palaces and museums, and all port fees.

Gratuity is not included. We suggest a 10% gratuity to your guide and 5% to your driver.

Please keep in mind that this is a shared tour. It is not private. The tour operator must maintain his schedule for a fair and successful day for all.

If your cruise ship departs at 7 PM or earlier your itinerary will be adjusted. Some locations, depending on the day, will have to be skipped. This is due to the working hours of local museums.

In Cozumel we enjoyed the snorkeling that we did off a catamaran. The staff was friendly, very professional, and helpful with my first time snorkeling daughter. Grand Cayman we went to sting ray city with a trip and snorkeling. Staff and trip was amazing, crew very helpful and fun. in Jamaica we did a Dunn's River Falls excursion and private beach. We had fun but were not impressed with the staff, and their timeliness (waited around alot),

MOSTLY EXCEPTIONAL

We did a private whale watching tour which was incredible. The train ride in Sitka which we were not going to do at first was spectacular. Scenery, comfort - a wonderful way to see the area and spend our time. We signed up for a Mendenhall Glacier trip plus Salmon bake. This one was so very commercial and although the glacier and waterfall were above our expectations, a short time was given to walk there and view. This left out two of our party as they could not move as fast as needed to return in the time frame of one hour. Then the BAKE- the food was marginally ok. They were out of the most important SMORES ingredients. It is crazy but that was advertised (we were willing to break our diets ) and we looked forward to them and then disappointed. The people were nice. the area was pretty but that one I would strongly advise friend not to sign up for.

Great experience. The tours of the Louvre, and Notrre Dame were great. The guide even helped me try to get Eiffel tower admission tickets switched after I had booked them on the wrong date.
