This tour takes off from our dive and surf center in South Beach (Miami Beach) to the John Pennekamp Marine Sanctuary. This snorkeler's paradise boasts dramatic coral heads that come within 10 feet of the ocean's surface. Hundreds of species of protected fish provide plenty of colorful entertainment and lots of great photo opportunties.
Many guidebooks call this mostly underwater preserve the premier natural attraction in the Keys. A 54,000-acre park, which is 25 miles long and extends 3 miles out into the Atlantic, it is loaded with 27 species of anemone-like gorgonians, 55 varieties of coral, and more than 500 species of vividly colored fish.
You may bring along your own lunch or purchase something to eat when we make a stop on our way to the Keys.
