You will have breakfast at the Green Camp
After breakfast, you will be picked by your driver and depart for Southern
Serengeti plains in pursuit of migration.
The landscape of the southern Serengeti is characterized by
treeless plains where the eye can see for miles to the Ngorongoro crater rising
from the horizon in the distance. The plains are dotted with rocky outcrops
known as kopje’s where lion often laze the day away. Cheetah favor this
landscape and can often be seen sitting atop an old termite mount scanning for
its next meal. Spend your day exploring the extensive plains in search of the
big cats and other plains game including Thomson gazelle, zebra and wildebeest.
If you would like to maximize your time game viewing you can take a picnic
lunch out into the park and enjoy a meal out in the vast savannah before
returning to your camp later in the day.
Kusini is a secluded bush camp set in a cluster of kopjes on the grassy,
southern plains of the Serengeti National Park. Tucked into the natural curves
of the surrounding kopjes the camp hosts a maximum of 26 guests in 12 large
safari tents, with wooden floors, built on private elevated terraces
overlooking the Serengeti plains or the surrounding forest. Set in a remote
region of the Serengeti, the camp offers the opportunity for secluded game
drives with expert guides, dedicated cheetah watch drives and Star safaris.
Cheetah, elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe and leopard are seen around camp year
round whilst the spectacular annual wildebeest migration arrives on the plains
from mid December to late March, when hordes of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle
mass around the camp for the birthing of their young.
