Château La Dorgonne: guided tour and wine tasting
This exceptional Domaine is laid in the heart of a 70 hectars vineyard, surrounded by garrigue and green oak. Using the foothills of Luberon, this Domaine is a delightful place to discover the huge range of red, white and rosé wines, taking advantage of the refreshing atmosphere. Actually, the Domaine is located 350 meters high, giving fresh air at night, and above all allowing slow maturation of the grapes. Soils are a majority of sands and lime, as well as clay and calcareous stone. Both climate and soils give a softness, vivacity and thickness to the Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault grapes that are happily growing here.
After this delightful morning pause, you will take the scenic route of the Luberon National Park.
The massif mountain of Luberon offers typical Provence landscapes: garrigue, olive trees, lavender fields, vineyards, and perched villages. This area is dominated by the Mourre Nègre, 1125 meters high. You will be seduced by the sinuous roads linking the perched villages to each other. A nice occasion to have a view at famous lovely places, attracting visitors from all over the world: Cucuron, Lourmarin, Bonnieux, and above all, Lacoste where the Marquis de Sade was living. Luberon is an endless source of inspiration for painters or writers, or more recently film directors.
