Your guide will meet you at your hotel and you will begin your discovery of Provence. You will start with the Luberon Valley which is characterized by a series of striking picturesque perches and hill-top villages dating back 1000 years of more.
You will make a stop in the charming village of Lourmarin and its chateau built in the 15th century & enlarged during the Renaissance. Bonnieux from where you will have the most breathtaking view from the ramparts over the Calavon valley. In the distance you will see the villages of Gordes & Roussillon, clinging on to the Vaucluse mountains.
The beautiful village of Gordes was home to a number of artists such as the painter Vasarely & the photographer Wille Ronis. You will discover exactly why Gordes is listed as one of France’s most beautiful villages!
The village of Roussillon, built on the top of a hill, has the most amazing ochre quarries. You can walk through the fantastic landscape that has been carved into the colored rock. You can then walk through the winding, cobbles streets of the village where the buildings are all different colors.
We can also make a stop at the Abbey of Senanque, a beautiful & still working 12th century abbey surrounded by lavender fields.
