Uncover hidden gems, local arts and crafts and mouthwatering food and drinks at Cape Town’s best markets

We’re passionate about local markets and have put our heads together to organize this special tour of the best in Cape Town. These spectacular walks will be held on Saturdays and will give you a unique opportunity to travel to different parts of the city. You will be able to sample delicious, freshly-prepared South African cuisine and see a huge variety of local products, arts and crafts from local artisans.

What to expect

You will be picked you up from your hotel, and head straight to the first stop - the famous market on Greenmarket Square, located in the heart of Cape Town. A historic spot, this was formerly a slave trading post during colonial times, then a fruit and vegetable market and now offers a wide selection of African souvenirs, crafts and curios. While you browse you’ll be kept entertained by street musicians, mimes and jugglers.

The next stop is Woodstock and the Old Biscuit Mill market. Here you will have time to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine or cider, relax and take in the sounds, sights and smells of this quirky, cool market. There’s no shortage of food options here, including two trendy restaurants: The Test Kitchen and The Pot Luck Club. This market also features arts, crafts, fashion and design shops.

The next stop is the beautiful Hout Bay to visit the The Bay Harbour Market, a place where the creative energy and dynamism of South Africa come alive. This market attracts people of all ages and cultures with its festive spirit. Wonderful works of art, clothing and African crafts are accompanied by the delicious flavors of freshly-made South African cuisine.

The tour ends in the famous Cape Quarter, a myriad of streets focusing on design and style in the suburb of Green Point. An ideal spot for shopping and the perfect time to relax and enjoy one of the many restaurants and cafes.

Our guide, Ryan Straus, was professional and knowledgeable. He assessed our personalities and our specific interests and adjusted our daily schedule to match. In addition, he was able to encourage us to see and do some things that we didn't even know we wanted to do! A very personal guided tour with a fun and warm young man. He is an asset to Triumph Travel.

Our experience with Triumph travel was out of this world. The whole trip was a trip of a lifetime. We only had on small hiccup, and it was handled very quickly and efficiently. When we landed in Capetown, we realized that no one was there to pick us up and drive us to the Winelands. We called the travel company, and sixth star travel, and within 10 minutes there was a luxury car there to take us to the Windlands. The tour company did not have our updated flight itinerary , as the original itinerary had us coming in 3 hours later. They really stepped us and took care of the situation.

Our day in the South African wine country with Triumph Travel was great. Our driver, Leonard, was very knowledgeable of the various wineries and the whole wine country. We enjoyed very much talking with him about his personal life and growing up in the Cape Town area. He treated us at the end of the tour with a surprise stop at the prison that Nelson Mandela was finally released from. It turned out to a real highlight of the day.

Our tours in the Cape were outstanding. All personnel were polite, informative, flexible, and provided exceptional service. We thoroughly enjoyed the tours and found new perspectives on areas we have previously visited. We couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience.

I have nothing but positive things to say about working with Triumph Travel. All drivers and guides were very professional but personable as well as knowledgeable and flexible to our requests. We felt we were in skilled hands at all times. The vehicles as well were high end and very comfortable. It was such a pleasure to sit back and enjoy the various tours we had requested. All we had to do was show up!
