Start your Alaska adventure in Anchorage with a tour of local breweries. Tastings are encouraged and the tour will introduce you to the exploding Alaska craft beer scene. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 2
Girdwood, AK United States
Alyeska Snack

Explore the wilderness hiking trails of Chugach State Park near Anchorage! This Alaska State Park offers a variety of hiking trails to suit all hiking abilities, from easy paths to strenuous mountain hikes with scenic views. Your guide will help decide your final designation on your approximately four hour hike. This half-day hiking trip operates in ALL weather conditions. Afterwards drive south to the small ski town of Girdwood. Overnight in Girdwood.

Day 3
Girdwood, AK United States
Alyeska Lunch

Enjoy a day trip from Girdwood to have the truly unique experience of Alaska kayaking and guided ice climbing on a glacier. Arrive at Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop aboard the Alaska Railroad. At the edge of Spencer Lake, you will be outfitted and kayak across the lake to the side of the glacier. Upon arrival to the glacier, get outfitted with helmets, crampons, and ice picks. About two hours will be spent climbing ice walls near the edge of the glacier. Experienced glacier guides are on hand for safety and can provide information on glaciology and techniques. Overnight Girdwood.

Day 4
Cooper Landing, AK United States

Depart for the Kenai Peninsula today to try freshwater salmon fishing on the Kenai River or Kasilof River. Spend a half - day out on the water with your guides. Depending on the season, you will fish for trout and/or various species of salmon including King Salmon and silver salmon. Overnight Cooper Landing.

Day 5
Cooper Landing, AK United States

Depart very early this morning from Cooper Landing for a full-day freshwater fishing charter. Your choice of either floating the Upper Kenai River for Sockeye (red) Salmon, Dolly Varden or Rainbow Trout; or fish the Lower Kenai River for giant king salmon in July or silver salmon in August and September. Lower Kenai River fishing is from a powerboat, using spin gear. Upper Kenai option is from either custom 4-passenger drift boats or from the shore.

Day 6
Anchorage, AK United States
Captain Cook None

Drive north from the Kenai Peninsula along the scenic Turnagain Arm to the town of Anchorage. During the four hour drive there is time to explore the local areas or hiking trails along the way or enjoy a relaxing last day in Alaska. Overnight in Anchorage.
