Private Rock Climbing Lesson in Joshua Tree / Palm Springs Architectural Tour

The group can split up this morning, with some going rock climbing in Joshua Tree and others going on an Architectural Tour in Palm Springs.

Rock Climbing -- After breakfast, depart and drive about 1 hour to the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.

Enter the park and meet your private guide for a morning rock climbing adventure inside the Park. Your guide will tailor the climbing activities to your exact needs and levels, and will provide all of the equipment required (including helmets, climbing shoes, and harnesses) for an afternoon on the famous walls and spires of Joshua Tree. The park has great climbs for kids, and more challenging routes for older teens and adults. There are also opportunities for easy scrambling/roped climbing to reach the summit of some spectacular rock formations. A gourmet picnic lunch will be served.

Palm Springs Modern Architecture -- The tour includes the history of Palm Springs, the people who lived, worked and vacationed here, the Hollywood stars that played and built homes here and the architects, builders and designers who, from the late 1930s through the early 1970s, developed the "desert modernism" style for which Palm Springs has become famous. Following your tour, you’ll visit and have lunch at the expansive Annenberg Estate, also known as Sunnylands. The 200-acre estate was designed and built in the 1960s by architect A. Quincy Jones and has hosted numerous historic high-level retreats for world leaders over the past four decades. Enjoy lunch at the café and walk the extensive gardens.

Return to your resort in the mid-afternoon to enjoy the pools and spa.

Excellent service

Upon arriving in Klamath Falls, our daughter became pretty ill and was not able to whitewater raft on the first day of our vacation. I called the customer service number and explained the situation and asked if it would be possible to change to another day. The young woman I spoke with was SO kind and helpful. She took all the information, called the tour company and called me back in a very short period of time. She was able to schedule the tour for later in the week and by that day, we were ALL able to go on the whitewater rafting excursion. Crater Lake National park was spectacular and I would highly recommend this service and location!

Fabulous Yellowstone?Grand Tetons trip

Mindy organized a wonderful vacation for our family. We enjoyed spending two full days with an absolutely outstanding tour guide at Yellowstone followed by two more half days with the same guide at the Grand Tetons. He gave us an appreciation for the spectacular surroundings and led us to see over 25 species of wildlife. We also had a wonderful time attending a rodeo and biking. Mindy even was able to add a white water rafting trip down the Snake River at the last minute. We are so looking forward to planning our next trip at other national parks with this very knowledgeable and committed organization. Thank you so much!

Grand Canyon, Bryce, and Zion National Parks

The trip exceeded my expectations. The private tours of the parks were interesting and the tour guides were very kid-friendly. We had a free morning in Page, Arizona and added a trip to Lower Antelope Canyon. This is a "must see" and was the favorite part of our trip for my three children. This slot canyon is 9 miles from Page and is the most visited slot canyon in America. We used Ken's tours and were accommodated within an hour without reservations. One day tours are adequate for the South rim of the Grand Canyon and Bryce. However, my family could have spent several days in Zion. The beauty of all three parks cannot be captured on film. The daily hikes were beautiful and totaled 15 miles spread out over 4 days.

It was a delightful experience! We especially enjoyed our guide, Slim Woodruff. She not only enabled us to experience the Canyon but also shared well the history of the Kolb brothers and others in the development of “tourism” so that others could visit and explore the Canyon. When questioned, Slim was knowledgeable of all the support services available to those who live in the park and to those who visit. Our helicopter ride was exciting and definitely memorable also!
