Our guide will also provide you with ideas and direction for tomorrow so you’ll get the most out of your day in the park.

After your hike and orientation, drive back to Springdale and check into your hotel, a lovely boutique property just outside the park boundary and next to the Virgin River. Private Full-Day Tour of Arches & Canyonlands National Parks by 4-Wheel Drive Vehicle

After breakfast, your private 4-wheel drive vehicle with driver-guide will meet you at Sorrel River Ranch at 8:30am for a full-day tour of Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. You’ll travel first to Arches, which features the greatest concentration of natural stone

arches in the world, offering spectacular displays of the natural forces of erosion at work. Your guide will lead you on short walks to some of the most spectacular structures. A picnic lunch is included.

From Arches, you’ll journey to Canyonlands National Park, a wonderland of canyons unfolding one below the other, all cut by wild and scenic rivers. You’ll travel off-road with thousand-foot cliffs on one side and a canyon as deep on the other with the Colorado River at its bottom.

Multi-colored rock layers unfold showing Earth’s history over 300 million years. Your private guide will interpret the geology and lead you on walks to special rock formations. This is a photographer’s paradise. You’ll return to your resort hotel in the late afternoon.

After breakfast, take advantage of the morning to enjoy one or more activities: hike, bike, and horseback ride, enjoy the pool, etc. Most of all just savor being together in such a beautiful setting.

After lunch you’ll have a drive of about 3 hours to Utah’s stunning Monument Valley. Just before you reach the Arizona border, you’ll arrive at your hotel; a Navajo owned business

located within the Navajo Nation and the Navajo Tribal Park at Monument Valley. Opened in December 2008, it features carefully designed accommodations that serve the needs of guests while blending with the environment so as not to detract from the beauty of Monument Valley.

Half-Day Private Tour of Native American Lands / Afternoon Free

After breakfast this morning you’ll meet with our private guide (a Navajo native) who will lead you on a tour of the Navajo National Monument and other Native American sites. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to your hotel.

Enjoy the hotel and the grounds in the afternoon. The Trading Post Navajo Rug selection has one of the largest rug collections within the Four Corners, purchased directly from the Navajo elder weavers who make them according to timeless traditions.

Day 9
Lake Powell, UT United States
Overnight near Lake Powell None

Morning Hike / Drive to Lake Powell / Afternoon Cruise on Lake Powell

In the early morning, we suggest hiking on Wildcat Trail, the only trail at the hotel that you can walk unescorted. This 4-mile hike, starting from the hotel, is one of the most beautiful trails that you will ever follow. Sunrise at Monument Valley greets you with a myriad of different colors. It’s as if the skies were made of molten lava.

After checking out of your hotel, you’ll have a drive of approximately 2.5 hours to Lake Powell Resort. After lunch at the resort, you’ll enjoy a three-hour cruise tour of Lake Powell. You can kayak, swim and enjoy the magnificent vistas. You’ll then drive over the border to Canyon Point, UT and check into your stunning hotel.

Day 10
Lake Powell, UT United States
Overnight near Lake Powell. None

Float Trip on the Colorado River in the Glen-Upper Grand Canyon

After a free morning and early lunch at Lake Powell Resort, you’ll have a short 20 minute drive to Page, AZ to meet your float trip guides. After check-in, they will take you to the put-in point

for your shared 5-hour float trip on the Colorado River through the upriver edge of the Glen and Grand Canyons. You’ll float through sheer walls over 2,000 feet tall on the gentle waters of this portion of the river.

You’ll take out in the late afternoon and return to Page. Take some time to browse the trading posts here, descendants of those on Navajo and Hopi lands. We can arrange for you to meet the fourth generation owner of one of the trading posts, who has an exceptional private collection of Navajo blankets and pottery.

Day 11
Tucson, AZ United States

Drive to Grand Canyon / Afternoon Helicopter Flightseeing Trip

After breakfast and checking out of your hotel, you’ll drive approximately 4 hours to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. In mid-afternoon, get your cameras ready for an incredible experience – a 45 minute helicopter flightseeing tour over the Grand Canyon.

After your flight, you’ll check into your hotel, located either inside the park or just outside the south entrance to the park in the town of Tusayan, AZ. The kids will enjoy the pool while you relax in the spa.

Day 12
Tucson, AZ United States
Overnight at Grand Canyon None

Full-Day Tour of Grand Canyon with Private Guide

After breakfast, you’ll meet your private guide for a tour near the Canyon rim; your guide will explain the flora, fauna and geology of the Canyon. Your rim tour will include a visit to the historic lodges and buildings on the Canyon rim, including the photography studio of pioneers Emery & Ellsworth Kolb where you’ll gain access to the floor of the studio that is closed to the general public. You’ll stop for lunch at the El Tovar Restaurant perched near the rim of the Canyon. (If you haven’t already tried a Navajo taco, have one at El Tovar.)

Day 13
Las Vegas, NV United States
Overnight at Vdara Hotel & Spa None

Drive to Las Vegas / Visit Ghost Town & Hoover Dam

After breakfast and perhaps one final visit to the Canyon Rim, you’ll begin your drive back to Las Vegas. En route, we suggest a stop at the little mining town of Chloride Arizona. Silver and other minerals were mined here for decades. After the mining boom was over, Chloride nearly became a ghost town itself. Today Chloride is home to about 250 residents who are still very proud of their mining history. Browse the antique shops and chat with the locals before you enjoy your lunch. Admire the many artistic sculptures in this joyful artist’s community.

Then proceed to the Hoover Dam 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas. The Bureau of Reclamation has conducted tours through the Hoover Dam and power plant since 1937. Today, close to 1,000,000 visitors tour the dam annually and millions more drive across it. Please note tickets cannot be purchased online and are first come, first served. Even if you do nothing more than stop for pictures, it is well worth it.

Then drive into Las Vegas where you’ll spend your final night at the hotel where you began your adventure.

Day 14
Las Vegas, NV United States
None None

Morning Visit to Red Rock Canyon / Depart for Home

If your schedule allows, we hope you’ll have time for a morning visit to the stunning Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. The area is 195,819 acres and is visited by more than one million people each year. The stunning landscape will be a fitting capstone to your Southwest adventure.

Return your rental car at Las Vegas McCarran Airport and board your return flight home.

Excellent service

Upon arriving in Klamath Falls, our daughter became pretty ill and was not able to whitewater raft on the first day of our vacation. I called the customer service number and explained the situation and asked if it would be possible to change to another day. The young woman I spoke with was SO kind and helpful. She took all the information, called the tour company and called me back in a very short period of time. She was able to schedule the tour for later in the week and by that day, we were ALL able to go on the whitewater rafting excursion. Crater Lake National park was spectacular and I would highly recommend this service and location!

Mindy organized a wonderful vacation for our family. We enjoyed spending two full days with an absolutely outstanding tour guide at Yellowstone followed by two more half days with the same guide at the Grand Tetons. He gave us an appreciation for the spectacular surroundings and led us to see over 25 species of wildlife. We also had a wonderful time attending a rodeo and biking. Mindy even was able to add a white water rafting trip down the Snake River at the last minute. We are so looking forward to planning our next trip at other national parks with this very knowledgeable and committed organization. Thank you so much!

Grand Canyon, Bryce, and Zion National Parks

By: Jim

Reviewed on: 07 Jul 2017

The trip exceeded my expectations. The private tours of the parks were interesting and the tour guides were very kid-friendly. We had a free morning in Page, Arizona and added a trip to Lower Antelope Canyon. This is a "must see" and was the favorite part of our trip for my three children. This slot canyon is 9 miles from Page and is the most visited slot canyon in America. We used Ken's tours and were accommodated within an hour without reservations. One day tours are adequate for the South rim of the Grand Canyon and Bryce. However, my family could have spent several days in Zion. The beauty of all three parks cannot be captured on film. The daily hikes were beautiful and totaled 15 miles spread out over 4 days.
