Explore charming Old Town Alexandria, site of the first brewery in the DC area, the Andrew Wales Brewery (1770), and home of the Robert Portner Brewing Company’s massive Tivoli Brewery. On this walking tour you will explore alleys, visit the Torpedo Factory, see repurposed buildings, historic taverns, a 1792 ice well – and of course Alexandria’s magnificent colonial-era architecture.
This walking tour begins at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House and ends at the corner of Royal and King Streets.
Please note that this is a historic walking tour focusing on the brewing history of the area. This is not a beer tasting tour.
