Explore charming Old Town Alexandria, site of the first brewery in the DC area, the Andrew Wales Brewery (1770), and home of the Robert Portner Brewing Company’s massive Tivoli Brewery. On this walking tour you will explore alleys, visit the Torpedo Factory, see repurposed buildings, historic taverns, a 1792 ice well – and of course Alexandria’s magnificent colonial-era architecture.

This walking tour begins at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House and ends at the corner of Royal and King Streets.

Please note that this is a historic walking tour focusing on the brewing history of the area. This is not a beer tasting tour.

Martha planned a fabulous trip to New York for our familyfor Spring Break.  She included all the “must see” sights but also tours and tips that made those sights more enjoyable and manageable for our family.  In particular, we loved the private guided tour of the Met – it was absolutely perfect and thoroughly enjoyed by both kids and grown-ups.  The built-in “down time” provided much needed rest as well as extra opportunities for us to explore the City.  Finally, the advice on restaurants, hotels and other practicalities was spot on.  Oh – and she was a joy to work with! We can’t wait to plan our next trip with Martha.
