Follow The Black Rooster to precious vineyards and great wines

An enticing blend of history, culture and gastronomy starts right away, as guests roll along the hilltop of the ancient Chiantigiana road, also known as "The Wine Road".Lern about the legend of the Florentine black rooster and the Sienese white rooster along the way. In no time, you'll be at Badia a Passignano, a perfect example of Tuscany's enduring appeal as a favorite destination for food and wine connoisseurs. This Antinori-owned winery, a rolling estate tucked into the heart of the Chianti Classico region - is loved for Chianti Classico Riserva di Badia a Passignano wine. The 215-hectare estate ecircles a beautiful ancient abbey still owned by the Vallombrosian monks, known for their wine making expertise since the estate's founding.Next, you will enjoy the Classici Antinori tasting menu, starting in the historic cellars of the Abbey.Afterwards, an extra-virgin olive oil tasting is followed by lunch at the Osteria with dishes paired with wine as Cervaro della Sala, Chianti Classico Riserva Badia a Passignano, Brunello di Montalcino, and Tignanello.During the meal you will learn more about wine serving and decanting. After this sumptuous lunch, we continue our adventure in a private car, venturing into the heart of this region: we end the day at a large estate amongst olive trees and vineyards, just in time for a tasting of the superb Chianti Classico families.According to the Wine Spectator, it's considered high quality but limited production. After the tasting, enjoy a relaxing and scienic drive back to your hotel.

FlorenceTown did an excellent job!

Our travel agent used Florencetown to arrange a city tour, museum tours, and a day trip to Vinci. In every case the personnel were quite professional, spoke very good English, and the guides were quite knowledgeable of both art and history. Kudos especially to Mario, who arranged the individual excursions, who was always available even after normal business hours, and who even brought us a sack of fresh cherries which he had picked the day before. Florence town had several other excursions and experiences which I might try on our next trip to Florence, and I'm sure that they could arrange customized experiences if we asked.

Outstanding service

When using a tour service, the experience always boils down to the individual tour guide. We were lucky enough to have Vanessa as our Florence tour guide for 2 days. She was energetic and passionate about her hometown. We were a group of 11 (including 4 teenagers) and she kept all of us engaged for the entire time she was with us! Because we were on a private tour, we were able to have Vanessa show us sights not on the normal tour gelato in Florence, local markets and local food tasting, best places to but leather, etc. Of course, we also visited the must sees (Accademia, Uffizi, Duomo, etc) and loved all that we learned. Thank you Venessa for showing us your city!!

She was so cute and knowledgeable of the city. You could tell she really loves her job. She was very personable also. She spoke many languages and English without a accent. At the end we wanted to bring her home with us. She has never been to America.
