This full-day excursion includes a private seaplane charter from Vancouver’s beautiful Coal Harbour. Flying in to the Great Bear Rainforest, enjoy a 3-hour guided grizzly observation. Learn about their feeding and mating habits, hibernation and the spiritual importance of wildlife to the First Nations people. From either Thompson or Bond Sound, another short private seaplane ride will deliver you to Alert Bay where you’ll enjoy a salmon barbeque on the beach. Your afternoon will be spent learning about the U’mista and Kwakwaka’wakw culture with a guided visit of the U’mista Cultural Centre. Much of the sacred regalia housed in the Centre has been reclaimed by the Kwakwaka’wakw people from museums and private collections around the world. After your tour, a one-hour private seaplane ride will deliver you back to downtown Vancouver.
Please note this experience requires a private charter aircraft. This journey must be booked in conjunction with hotel accommodation.
