Arrive into Luleå and transfer to Brändön lodge. This charming cabin village overlooks the frozen sea and islands of the Luleå archipelago. The Luleå archipelago has a total of 1300 islands and only 100 residents and is a unique wilderness environment where the sea around the island freezes up to a metre thick in winter.

At Brändön Lodge our Sami friend Henrik Andersson, always keeps a few of his reindeer. They are very friendly and this gives you a chance to meet and feed the reindeer. Together with a guide, you can do short visit into their enclosure. You can also add optional activities to your stay such as an dinner on ice, Hovercraft tour, icefishing, Northern Lights snowshoe walk and Nordic Winter Skills.

Don't forget that the lodge's location away high above the arctic circle, away from artificial light makes the camp a perfect spot for watching the Aurora Borealis.

When you arrive at Treehotel, you check in at Britta's Pensionat. Then it's just a short stroll (5 mins ) through the beautiful nature to your treeroom. You can either carry your luggage or it can be transported.

When you are ready, you have a guided tour of the Treehotel included.

From your Treehotel's room you get a fantastic view of the Lule River valley, miles of forest and the powerful river.

Given that 59 Deveees North is in Norway, they had no presence in Greenland whatsoever. While they were able to arrange the activities we requested, we had no single point person in Greenland. We felt on our own on a daily basis. This may have been due to a lack of personal experience with Greenland and more specifically the town where we visited. Since this is a national heritage site, I would have expected greater familiarity. However, we were able to fend for ourselves when neededttt

Did not get what we had hoped for overall on our trip to Iceland. The only part of our trip that was planned for us and we loved was at The Blue Lagoon. Did not get "guided" tours, got pick up and drop off at destinations. Planning done on own and helped put together by our agent was better than what 50 Degrees North did for us.

My travel agent worked directly with 50 North in planning our trip. I can say that all of our tours were professional and fun. Also, when the weather caused restrictions on some of the planned activities, the company was quick to find a suitable alternative. Everything was exactly as described to us and we had a fantastic trip!
