This tour will broadly illustrate the most important aspects of the D-Day, 6th June 1944, while bringing you to amazing beaches of Normandy.

Mostly composed of sandy beaches, the Norman coast had the perfect location for the soldiers to train on the other side in England, and even to test the resistance of the tanks on the same kind of sand. Besides, there were other factors to choose Normandy : the grounds in Holland were too flooded, the currents of the Belgium were too strong, and the Pas-de-Calais area was occupied by Germans. Deepen your history knowledge by visiting the Normandy Landing Beaches with Deluxe Drivers. During this English-speaking private tour, discover why Normandy was the strategic point to start the allied invasion of Western Europe. Visit the landing beaches one by one, stopping in Pegasus Bridge, Sword Beach, Juno Beach, Gold Beach, the American Cemetery, Omaha Beach and Pointe du Hoc.

The last stop is in Caen where you can visit the Caen Memorial and immerse in the heart of the history from 1918 until today.

I would use Deluxe again, but our driver who took us to the Lisbon airport, left us in the wrong terminal. It took a while to get our bearings once we realized the error.

Francois Bourret is more than a driver. He really knows the Luberon Valley and Provence so we encouraged him to be our guide and take us where he felt we should visit. Smart move! Highly personable, bright and fluent in English. Highly recommended.
